Full Metal Panic!!

Post by Faceless »

I'm just wondering, have any of you ever watched Full Metal Panic? 'Cause it's one of my favourite anime shows, and I want to know if anyone's into Full Metal Panic aswell, so... does anyone watch it?

Screw that nonsense! Watch Full Metal Jacket! Now there's some quality entertainment.

Oh fuck! What's the name of that Italian actor in Full Metal Jacket? He's also in Law and Order Criminal Intent!

You should really try to rent it, it's the best anime i've seen in a while. It's got just the right formula, some humour, but put into the right places, and Mecha's. Ah yes Mecha's... Oh yeah and a cool story-line.

Nagh . . .

As you'll probably see later, I loathe anime. I do not intend to rent or buy any of it.

Full Metal Jacket and Apocalypse Now are damn fine. I still need to see Platoon.

I don't hate anime, I loathe it.

There is a serious difference, one I intend to explain in detail once I work out those details.

Loathe is such a harsh word, and hate is... use 'dislike' instead :)

Loathe is accurate.

Post by ZOMBIE USER 17345 »

I want to entirely remove anime from my sight. I don't think "dislike" is a strong enough word.

I find that the majority of anime cartoons are so annoyingly static.

The numbers of pose scenes or the number of times you see the overabundant use of still shots with only lips or backgrounds moving makes the animators look like cheaters at times. They also contribute to making anime cartoons look so utterly lifeless when there are no giant robots fighting to distract from the general motionless existence of everything else.
I'd prefer them if they were more energetic and vibrant

WHAT?!

"AT TIMES"?! Cheating is the definition of anime! Not even Tom and Jerry was that bad for recycling animation!

I can't remember anything in Full Metal Panic that wasn't moving when something was happening, water in the background, moving trees, gunfire... There was... IS always something moving in the background of FMP. And I can't remember any freeze type scenes either, BOO-yah.

I haven't actually watched it, so I'll hold back passing judgement on it.
Its probably great too.

However, I doubt that I'll ever actually see it (of my own free wil that is).

I have not seen the original series, but I did see the entire run of its spinoff series "Full Metal Panic Fumoffu".

I have to agree. I'm not a big fan of most animes, but this one is pure genius.

Well Faceless.

Post by ZOMBIE USER 17345 »

If that's true, then this isn't an anime. It's a cartoon with Japanese influences. Anime is defeined by those methods of cheating.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Don't judge a book by its cover."?

Does it play out of North America anyway? I'd never heard of it until just now.
