What is with Hamilton?

Post by Rabbit-Sama »

You know, in the short 8 years i've been a member of the online world, and the 6 i've been on places like IRC, i've noticed something. A LOT of the chatters i deal with come from Hamilton... expecially the ones i find in anime chat, and anime RPG's, some of which were in my own channels, now my question is this: WHY? ^^; is the concentration of anime fans/computer geek types per capita higher there than anywhere else in North America? or is it just something freak?

Oh yes, i mean 'computer geek' in an affectionate way, i'm one of those! :D

Mac University has a very large anime club, so does Mohawk college. There's a large concentration of geeks in Hamilton.

He's tall
Good lookin'
And he's large
He's large
Large
Tall
Large
So large
And he's mine

He's not a mandolin
Oh no
He's an accordian
I'll have to squeeze him each night to keep him warm
Warm
Oh...

He's virile
And he's strong
Strong
He's strong
Strong
And he's large
Large
Large
Large

Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo dah dah dah
Dah dah dah
Dah dah dah

He's got money and respect
That's true
He's better than the rest
That's true
He may not be the best
But he's large
And he's mine
Large
Large
Large
Large
Mine
Mine
Mine
Mine

Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo dah
Dah dah dah
Dah dah dah

It may seem funny but it's not
Oh no
I'm thankful for what I've got
Me too
It may not be a lot
But he's large
And he's mine

I can't tell if that song is describing an accordian or a penis or what! ;)

(Hmm, I guess they are kind-of similar: they grow and shrink, have permanent wrinkles, like to be played with......)

It's describing Bluto from "Popeye", as sung by Olive Oyle (Shelly Duvall) in the Robert Altman movie that starred Robin Williams.

One of my favorite movies actually. Unfortunately the critics didn't seem to get the fact that it was based on the original Popeye comic strips and not the cheesie post-Fleisher saturday morning TV cartoon Popeye of the 60s and 70s thus it was panned.

The music was brilliant. Had a very Brecht/Weill vibe to it.

Suddenly I'm not so pleased about coming from Hamilton . . .

You better not be Argo fans too! My fucking next-door neighbours are Argo fans . . . in Hamilton.

Aye. Last season wasn't too good for them though.

At least the Bulldogs are really kicking ass!
