Home (and closeted) II: Electric Bogaloo

Post by Nyamaza »

This christmas is hitting me somewhat hard, and the rather ironic symbolism at home isn't helping. My mom and dad are aware of how much I value my privacy when sleeping (though I DO wish I had someone special to share that with... sigh), and enough extended family is in tonwn for the holidays that all the beds are taken. So where am I?

In the closet. Literally, sleeping on a pile of quilts/blankets on the floor.

I can't wait for the next few days to be over.

Oh man, that's not cool. Sorry Nyamaza...*hugs Nyamaza* At least the situation is not long term or permanent.

Myself. this Christmas is just looking like last year's...I'm getting and giving presents of course, but that hardly can make up for the fact that I am essentially alone. *sighs* Not much I can do about it. And being stuck at College for the next several years means that likely as not, many of my following Christmases (SP?) will end up with me alone...=Y-Y= I think I just depressed myself...

Anyway, a happy holiday to everyone on the board from Santa Fox.

Care to swap, Fox? I'd give quite a lot not to be with my family this christmas- various drunken relatives have been arriving, and the rows haven't stopped yet. The sound of raised, slurred voices I can hear right now isn't the greatest seansonal tradition we have in our family. What I can't work out is why they all think it's a good idea to tell me I'm a failure and my life is a waste when we all know the package for me under the tree is an new axe.

Ah well, there's always someone out there having a worse christmas than you. If certian family members don't shut up, it'll be them.

Happy christmas ( from your local scrooge).

Whoa...bummer R. Wyatt...hope things get better for ya. Usually at family get togethers I like to hide in the corner myself...it doesn't do much good, but that doesn't stop me from trying. Hope things get better for you.

The Fox - Still wishing a happy Christmas to all, though admittedly, this doesn't seem to be a cheerful time of year for some.

Mmmph. I'm kinda glad I can't visit relatives for the holidays... my current 'friend' got to come over today, though he has to visit his folks tomorrow. So, I'll be alone on Christmas day, but at least I had someone for Christmas eve.

I hope they at least made sure it was one worth getting. I don't know guitars, but I knew people who do, and from what I hear there are a lot of cheapo instruments out there these days that aren't worth a damn.

OTOH, it sounds as if you might wish it were literally an axe by the time the dust clears.

well, I managed to escape the closet, managed to borrow parents car to spend last night home in my own bed, and tonight got a ride back with a roommate that just happened to be heading back to Lexington from Louisville anyway. I love my family, I just wish I coudl relax around them anymore.

I want to wish everyone the best christmas they could possibly have.

I know nothing about guitars, either. However, I do know my axes! (That's my old one. Historical re-enactment is so much fun!)

Christmas was surprisingly good this year: it seems someone forgot to get any toilet paper, so the only roll in the house from sundown Chirstmas Eve till sunrise Boxing Day was the one I was keeping top seceret. Somehow, I found that very satisfying.

What? I never said I was the nice one in the family!

Anyway, hope you all got a good haul and some good times!

Gad, sounds like there's some rough holidays going on.

Well, hang in there, gang. It can get better. Remember how bummed I was last year? The other day I was in my dad's car with him and my mom and my dad asked if I liked redheads and I said I didn't really have a preference, and we all laughed.

But to everyone who's having a rough holiday out there, wherever you are, whatever's going on, hang in there. We're all pulling for you.
