Adding an Author

Post by Erik Saren »

I've been trying to add my friend Oren on as an author, and everytime I do so, all it does is tell me I am not logged in when I am in the first place.

Can someone help me out?

I'm getting the same problem using siteadmintest.

The URL
http://siteadmintest.keenspace.com/cgi- ... ?stage=add

produces:

"This page requires authentication, please goto the Login page."

when I am logged in. I can still edit my author information, it's just adding that's a problem. :o

It's not just you two; my author and I haven't been able to get his name added for the same reasons.

I am also having the same problem. I am trying to add an author to my comic information, and getting the "This page requires autherization" message.

"The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings."

All I get no matter what I try.

Sorry. Since there was a members2 site I figured there might also be a siteadmintest2 site. Oh well.

Well, it was a good try.

As far as I'm concerned I'm not worried yet, since my author tag doesn't work anyway. I just manually added the other guy's name to all the pages along with my own. I'd kinda like him to get due credit in the guide, is about all it amounts to.

I am on YDK, so I corrected the location I am logging in to siteadmin2, but there was not even a choice to add an author there. Strangely, I can also log in to either siteadmintest or siteadmin2 and edit my info. But either way, when logging on correctly, I don't even get a link to add an author.

"adding" an author isn't supported yet... I can add one manually, but the code for it is missing checks to prevent duplications and that's why it doesn't work.

Thank you, now how can one go about getting that done? As moonshadow said, I can manualy add the other author to the site, but I would like to get him credit on the guide.

Do -NOT- ever try to add an author by putting them in the same author with you, as this breaks the email sender (people putting ,'s in the email field results in no email)

I can add one manually, but I do this on a per-case basis.

So do we PM you with the information to have it done?

(What I meant was I replaced all incidences of ***author_name*** with our names on the pages themselves, because that tag doesn't work right.)
