A banner is an advertisement for a site. Like the one in my signature.

You can upload banners to be displayed on various parts of Keenspace that deal with your site. The banners must be of a preset width and height, at the moment, 468x60 is the only one that gets used. You first upload to your FTP and then specify the path on the Add banners page.

After you successfully load your banner, you can link to it's new location on the Guide and put it in your signature or whatever. Also, it will be displayed above your comic on all guide entries.

I also did phbites.comicgenesis.com and hntrac.comicgenesis.com way back when.

Faub has an excellent Banner/Avatar guide in the FAQ. (click on link in my sig). It's somewhere around the second half of the first post, right after the step-by-step guide.

It should walk you through what you need to do. And more.
