Sadly, I cnat remember any mentioning of cookies in my comic. But I had a few ice-creams.
As for explosives, I had two explosions: One that Voicey used to plow up the water-pump of mr. Wolf, and one obligatory explosion in background that blew up Mazzilius base. Nothing on regular bases.
I prefer running through the window with a car. Had two cases by now and who knows how many I'm planing on.
Play along, mc...

heh, everybody knows that
E^2=m^2*c^4+p^2*c^2
E=m*c^2 is a simplified version of that formula when p=0

actually, you got it almost right.
First:
-mass is by deffinition positive.
It just happens that in all "real" physics equation the mass is _always_ squared, so it's assumed positive for simplicity.
-and you are wrong, the real special relativity theory operates on 4-dimensional objects.
(note, for simplicity I'm assuming c=1, if you want, you can ie. divide E by c, or multiply p and m by c)
One of them is four-momenta, it looks like this: (E,px,py,pz). also writen as (E,p) where p is a regular 3D vector.
4 momentas have their equivalent of scalar multiplication
(e1,p1)*(e2,p2)=|by definition| e1*e2-p1*p2
(where p1*p2 is regular scalar multiplication of 2 vectors)
A particle that moves has some momenta p, and energy E, and by definition it's mass is equal to the module ("lenght") of it's four-momenta.
Module of four momenta is calculated pretty much like a vector's
lenght(p)=sqrt(p*p) where * is skalar multiplication
"lenght"((E,p))=sqrt((E,p)*(E,p)) where * is equivalent of skalar multiplication.
Taking all these together we have that by definition
m=sqrt(E*E-p*p)
now we can easily recreate "c"'s by looking at units
m*c*c=sqrt(E^2+p^2*c^2)
or, because sqrt is there just to cause confusion
m^2*c^4=E^2+p^2*c^4
-and this is the actual special relativity equation.
Of course it's the same as yours, but this one is derived straight from the 4-momentas, so it's more basic(is this the right word?)
later yours can be derived from this one.
sorry, remember, I'm a physics major. One year from university graduate.

First of all, you're totally correct - (m>0) is not required, at all, in the equation. In the case of m=0, the particle is moving at light speed and no amount of energy will speed it up (or alternativey, slow it down) within it's reference frame.
When I said m>0, I was thinking in terms of particles not already moving at the speed of light. But, this is why I spend weeks on my answers in my strips. Obviously I didn't here.

What I'd like to know is the mass of the Higgs, and how the heck matter acts within the Higgs field. Got any info on the status of that project?

Wouldn't it be better to say that mass is by definition, not negative? "m" is rest mass, and some particles have m=0. Photons for example, have zero mass, but have a lot of kenetic energy. Zero squared is zero, and zero is not by definition, a positive number.First:

It's particularly sad that I actually knew this, and (basically) the mathematics behind it. Color me Duuuuuh.real special relativity theory operates on 4-dimensional objects

Ok, I know a bit about Higgs, but not as much as I should...rkolter wrote: What I'd like to know is the mass of the Higgs, and how the heck matter acts within the Higgs field. Got any info on the status of that project?
Anyways: the particle hasn't been detected yet.
It's estimated mass is something around 90 GeV (ie. mass of a proton or neutron is around 90GeV).
Interaction of Higgs and other particles is quite complicated,
let's just say it's difficult to set masses of elementar particles to some values, it's easier to introduce an all new, and weird particle, that has a non-zero average value of wave function in vacuum.
Then you write H=H0+dH (where H0 is the average value, and is constant)
And then you add interaction of particles with H, and it breaks down into two terms:
Interaction with dH
and Interaction with H0, where H0 is constant, and this term looks exactly like the one you'd get if you tried to introduce mass explicitly.
