New CarebearsInvasion Thread.

Post by YarpsDat »

Okay, if you know what is Carebears Invasion, you can skip this first post.

If you don't know...
the answer is simple: It's a great fun!
It's a web comic drawn by members of the forum, together. People take turns drawing and writing it.

Plot overview: Carebears are evil, and tons of evil Carebear clones are invading city after city. Military is powerless.
The only chance for victory is a team of superheroes with awesome powers. And it just happens we are the heroes.
We have powers like flight, pyrokinesis, cybernetic implants, psionic abilities and others.

The best thing is: You can join us too. It is a lot of fun-
you can design your character, choose your powers, and draw some comics.
and it doesn't take that much work, as you only draw something when you want, and when we have open spots.

(All you need to do is post you are interested. And you need to be a "forum regular", that means someone who is recognized as a [valuable] member of the forum.)

I'm the manager here, I make sure everything works fine, I'm watching script consitency and stuff like that..
I also maintain the project's site.
In case of any problems/questions PM me, (or post here)

EDIT: new website, new url. The old website was very plain, and the old url was nowhere.keenspace.com/carebears

"1.Scan in high res 2.tweak with curves, levels or something to clean up the scan (or use channel mixer to remove blue pencil lines) 3.Add colour using a layer set to multiply. 4.Add wordbubbles and text as vector shapes. 5. Merge all layers. 6.resize to the web size. 7. Export/Save for Web" that's all I know about webcomicking.

I'll add two pages from SuperLance to The Site soon.

Meanwhile they are here:pg26 pg27

I'm afraid I've lost last page from wethamster, so please repost it.

Works in progress:
heffaloop: (yup, we're still waiting for you) drawing Hank and Forumite in trouble.
Luprand: continuing Superlance's comics
mecharm: putting Hand and forumite in even more trouble, and introducing Catrine.
and possibly me: reminding everyone of my team, and the crature we(my team) found.
You are the Non. You must go now, and never return."

and BladeRoden: well, you're "not forum regular enough". At least IMHO.
But I got my profile approved by the powers that be.

Do you post your profile in this thread now, after the breakage of the forum? 'Cause I'm working on a pic of myself and Silly, the Fluffy White Parakeet of Doom. Oh, sure, I look scarier than the 'keet does... but, I'll let you guys see that whenever I post it.
Is that so?

BTW. Here's me with my "parakeet"
(She sits on my shoulders a lot, recently. Maybe because I let her since she finally learned not to use claws while doing it.)

Nah, not a pirate. ;) You'll see when I'm done. My bird, though, well, suffice it to say sometimes I wonder if she's possessed by an evil spirit.

But then she's too cute for that. *cuddles the fluffiness that is her little white parakeet*

looks ok.
Sorry I'm not putting the new stuff on the site, but I wanted to avoid some problems with chronology, as M.E.Charms part will happen before these episodes.

So, right now M.E.Charm should be working on something...
anyone cares to draw something (again)?

I'm lazy and self absorbed . . . I'll do a quick page to explain where I vanished to in the chopper, if no one else is already . . .

hmm, right now M.E.Charm is going to introduce your character, into the part with hank and forumite in the sever.
I thought we could live with that little inconsistency, especially that it was just a small head next to the chopper...
but if you have an idea how to explain you disappearing there, and appearing somewhere else, then it's cool.

If you had another idea (I had one: in my version you'd just get lost in the building, and everybody forgot about you (just like it really happened;))), maybe you could convince mecharm to change his idea. ie. he could use Robin(MixedMyth) character instead of you.

Anyways, PM me your idea, I'd like to hear it.

btw, mecharm, what's your status?
Any sketches, scripts, or ETA on the final page?

She could have jumped off the chopper when it was spinning around
she's a cat-girl and it's well known that cats can fall from high places without getting hurt.

Wha...?
There was an other image?
Umm that's possible. That thread was quite long, and I was speed reading through it copy-pasting stuff into the website, I might have missed something.
I'm afraid I don't have a different picture, post one if you do.

Oh well, if we're "reporting bugs"

In the site the pages 4 and 5 of the comic are the same.

You know, I was too lazy to read all the 40+ subpages.
I'll fix that. Thanks.

Surely you must know I myself am far too lazy to skim through the old thread, not to mention finding it.
