It's Gav. It's also hooked with the advertizements.
But they're taking up !)#()@( of CPU time, and locked me out of my Linux box once (Netscape bug). Thankfully I'm able to log in with my laptop and killall -9 netscape to regain control. But I have a copy of the javascript buggers now... lets see what I can do...
------------------

Okay okay, I'm sorry if you didn't appreciate the joke (I didn't see it as being an advertisement, since they don't link to my page). You can get rid of the buggers just by requesting an update of your index page from your Site Maintenance page.
------------------

I feel the exact same way. I know it's a joke, and that we have no right to tell you Keeners what to do, but it is still most annoying.
------------------

Yeah, I know it's a joke, all in good fun. But look at it this way Gav, would you appreciate little Hapless Joe heads floating around on your page?
Actually, I should just let this slide if I ever wanna make it to Keenspot someday...

I don't think the Keeners are dumb enough to deny you memebership over something like that!
------------------

I go to the Keenspot pages today and notice a ton of floating heads from that one Nukees character. Cute, I think, then proceed on my merry way. Well, then I go to my page on Keenspace, and there are little floating heads of the Nukees guy. Huh. Eeee-yeah. Now, it's a funny joke, I'm not argueing that, I just feel a little, well, violated. I mean, I didn't give permission for this change to occur on my page. I don't mind whatever banner ad pops up, but this seems like the line. I probably would have agreed to the gag if someone asked, but no one did. It's frankly advertising Nukees in a way I didn't give permission for and that makes my page look a little stupid. I dunno, maybe this just me.

I found it annoying.
I assumed Keenspace had been hacked. I figured if it was MEANT to interfere with reading my comic, I would have been warned via email.
Requesting site maintenance did not work to eliminate it, for me.
And now my comic for today (Monday) won't update.
Is it the floating heads? Why are there 647 sites waiting for updating?
I have a great sense of humor. Never been accused of not having one. To me, messing with my site is not funny.

I think it's dumb.
As a reader of other KeenSpace strips, I was irritated by it. My site isn't even up from the crash yet (raeofdarkness.keenspace.com, btw), but if it were... I dunno. It's your perogative as hosts, but... yeh know?
I think pranks are fine, but they shouldn't interfere with the strips, or otherwise violate the creator's intent. Perhaps in the future, the strip-creators can be notified ahead of time or something?
.Rae

Okay, aliennating myself further with this, but I didn't have a problem with it. I checked other sites right off and figured it was a joke. Most of my readers did the same and no one has said anything to me about pc problems afterwards and my site seems to be updating fine. Oh well. I can't have problems all the time I guess.
------------------

If my comic were merely a hobby, this would not bother me.
It is my dream, and my future. I am in negotiations with a syndicate. It is not a silly hobby.
Putting this weird script on my site made Keenspace look unprofessional, in my opinion.
But you can make it up to me.
How about inviting me to join Keenspot?
Ruth http://ruthcomix.keenspace.com

In seeing Scott's dedication to his strip, I highly doubt he would use the word "silly" to refer to cartooning, even as a hobby. And are there many here who don't have a dream of syndication? Please drop the air of superiority.
It's been said in various threads before, but this is a free service. If you are using this as some sort of business, you are doing so at your own risk. It's the 3rd already.)
If you want "professional", I refer you to the Terms of Agreement you agreed to upon joinging Keenspace:

I can't even see it as KeenSpot promotional materials. It was Gav's character advertized, highly targeted to one specific comic. It was also applied to other KeenSpot comics, too (Bruno the Bandit, GPF, etc). Thus, I can't even say it was an "offical KeenSpot prank." You already know it didn't go over well.
But lets not say it's not inspiring. Besides, I rather play the joke on the readers, rather than being the fool. Jeff of GPF said it was for "all of us (readers and cartoonists)". It didn't go well (as demonstrated earlier). Next time, lets make it the ultimate crossover yet. I still have the code. I'll whap on it some, since it looks like to be a small modification to get it to do what we all would want it to do...
The best prank takes more than one person. That way we can shift the blame.
------------------
