Love the pigtails in the third panel

Well what do you know, Charlie actually learned something. Although from the looks of the last panel (12/10) things just might get nicer for him in the future.

In educating jackasses - First you must get their attention
I'd say he's learned a little. Now hopefully it isn't only just in short term memory.
One question, does he ever return the dresses that he 'borrows'? He kept Kay's panties and they aren't even his size.
And BTW, Kay will be more important for Charlie to get back into good graces with. He has got mondo karma to work off there and she may not be as forgiving as Denise was.
Nip is the one whom I will be most interested in seeing Charlie deal with. Forgiveness? I dunno, ain't no saints in that crowd, but we'll see.

Deep Pockets???
I just want to know, where he was hiding the flowers.
(Ok, Ok. I guess if a strip has had a six-legged chicken in the past, its permissible for a character to pull a dozen roses out of cartoon null-space.)

Of course those are deep pockets, Fruitopia, those are cargo pants he's wearing!
Squeaky Bunny, Charlie didn't keep the panties from what we see in that comic. Looks to me like he returned them. Also makes me wonder what would have happened if Kay asked Charlie about that night. Charlie didn't seem to have any problem telling the truth when asked. Come to think of it, he's always been brutally frank.
As for the karma balance, what didn't happen between Kay and Charlie was neither common knowledge nor did Charlie try to establish bragging rights. Kay was the only one who let slip what was possible that night to anyone else. The entire school saw what happened to Charlie and perhaps the western hemisphere can see the film of the event complete with story. This is something which will be oft repeated and embellished for years afterwards and may become urban legend in its own right. I think you can draw your own conclusions on this.
Short term memory? Riding a cow in a tutu in front of everybody you know whilst screaming fer mommy just after escaping the home of the fan from hell and a pack of sadistic bikers - all for the specific purpose of telling him he's a jerk?!? How, I'm asking how he could forget?
Take note of Charlie's posture. Far different than the swept back shoulders and forward thrust chest style swagger he's had in his previous appearances in the comic. No longer is he carrying himself as "large and in charge". Just thought I'd point that out.

He showed them to her. Returning them is a different matter and Charlie would have lost his bargaining power if he had. Your second example kinda countermanded your first. To quote Charlie: "I've been jerking her chain for weeks" The implication being that he has some hold over her.Andrick wrote:Of course those are deep pockets, Fruitopia, those are cargo pants he's wearing!

To quote Shakespeare; Ah, there's the rub!
Frank does not mean honest. It's one of those words that can fool people. He may tell the truth only as long as it serves his purpose and not when he can gain something by deception. You'd have to be in his head to know that answer. Also makes me wonder what would have happened if Kay asked Charlie about that night. One deed was private, the other one public. What Charlie had done to Kay was malicious. What was done to him was humiliating but not harmful other than to an overinflated ego.As for the karma balance, what didn't happen between Kay and Charlie was neither common knowledge nor did Charlie try to establish bragging rights. And, If he had stopped for a few moments and thought things through instead of going strictly on autopilot, he would have seen through their deception much sooner.
That, is uh, human nature. He will remember the act, no problem there, but maybe not the action that was behind it.Short term memory? And, I speak sooth on this one. I've seen several examples where it took more than one whompin' to make a point stick.
As I said, it might be short term memory in effect. It may not be so in the long run, we'll see.Take note of Charlie's posture. He learnt good
Judging by recent events it looks like Chalie has gotten the point, in fact his character has developed quite nicely. There might be a little romance in his future with Denise too. Having a mate who's your biggest fan is a dream come true, the question is who will be whose fan?
There still is having to confront Kay, Nip, and the ex roomie. Life sure ain't easy. Having a 2 X 4 attitude adjustment wasn't nice, but the results are pretty good.
The greater question is moralistic. Does doing something maliciously to someone evil if the intention and result is good?

The "n"s don't justify the "neans".
