Those Darn Pencils!

Post by Patach »

I need a quick art question. I use Non-Repo pencils for my work in order to make it quicker to scan, and to give the comic a complete dark feel to it.

Now, as I begin switching brands (based on the apparent reason one of them either went out of business or stopped selling in the area), I found that other Non-Repo pencils were very soft lead, making it hard to outline (and it also screws up the marker). Is there any suggestions? Any brands I can look up that has this really cool Non-Repo lead pencil that easily allows outlining?

First of all, this belongs in the Techniques forum.

I'm not sure of a particular brand to use, but you can check at your local architecture and drafting supply store, they would probably have the largest selection.

Eek! Sorry, I didn't notice a techniques forum here. My bad, I'll goto there instead :(
