I know this has probably been asked before, but I've been searching the old posts and can't find it.
I want my rants to be posted with the comic for that day. How is that done?
Question about posting Rants

simply write it in a textfile named whateverdaterant.txt and upload it to /workspace/comics so today's would be 20020915rant.txt
it doesn't need to be named rant, but the numerical value of the name must be above that of just the plain date, or your rant will appear above the comic instead of below it

The way the include tag works is that it copies the file character for character
so you can use 20020915rant.html instead of .txt
the one thing to bear note of in this is that you don't need the head/body/html/etc tags, because it copies it fully into the other file that already has these tags.
Edit: The .html's just for personal clarity, you could do the entire thing, complete with tags, in a text file, and it'd still work; but it doesn't make as much sense to me...

To clarify, the number that represents the date must match the comics date. Do NOT add an extra number at the end (like 200209161.txt). The rant filename must come after the comic filename alphabetically, assuming you want your rant below the comic.
I would like to remind you that ***tags*** that you place inside the rant text file work. For example, ***include *** . So your rant text file would look something like this:
***include complicated_pre_rant_stuff.html***
rant away
***include complicated_inter_rant_stuff.html
another rant

By the way. I nominate this for stickiness, since it's way uber super handy to know how to add news updates like this.

The KeenSpace updater is a jumbled piece of **** at this point that barely works. The documentation sucks, and it's the only part I can fix quickly and easily. I'm working on a comic management wich is actually thought out and (I hope) will be well written.
The updater's problem wasn't planned properly from the begginning and has been added onto with similar carelessness and then fixed quickly. If it was a car, you would be able to easily tell that it usually makes it off the lot.
