Post by Ajcg51 »

I gave up looking for a Kanji True Type font, could find one. but if anyone HAS found one, or has one and would upload it temporarily for me to download, it would be much appreciated...

but I cannot write japanese on my comp to save my life...

so, i've been trying to find your japanese characters on http://etext.virginia.edu/wwwjdic/ but no such luck.

but does the image at the top of the thread really mean "pervert"? Coz then I'll try and change it. You see, I used Ghastly's coz the pic he gave me was nicely drawn... so making it look good in photoshop wasn't a problem.

If you can scrounge those characters in that Kanji dictionary database, mucho grateful...

Well usually you'd use Hentaisha for pervert, or sukebe for the more creepy kind of pervert. Heheheh... I remember sending some of my H-Pics to one of my friends. He opened it in the class he was teaching and one of his students saw it over his shoulder and screamed at him "SUKEBE!! ATAMA GA OKASHII!"

Hen is just the basic root for "strange" "weird" "twisted". So it's also the root for the word hentai which means perversion.

Well it could imply that the person is a little kinky, but it could also mean that he's just eccentric as well.

Ghastly:
1) "Hentaisha" is not used at all... However, "Hentai" is used for pervert... You can't put "sha" on the end of everything and expect it to mean ____ person.
2) Yes, "sukebe" is also pervert.
3) Hentai can mean "perversion," although it is commonly used as "pervert." Especially if screamed out loud. :wink:

ajcg51:
"Henjin" can mean odd person, but as I said before, it can implicate a "pervert." If you choose to go with it though, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Time for me to buy a new Japanese dictionary. Stupid fucking random house!

I think I have an oxford around here somewhere.

So then what the hell did it mean when my Japanese friend called me Hentaisha?

Beats me... Keep in mind that there are many dialects... if that's not bad enough, there's "popular" words and phrases such as:

Sunglasses = Glasan
Kissaten = Saten
etc. etc.

Yeah I could remember in Japanese class the different dialects making things difficult. We had two teachers each from a different area of Japan. One would tell us to pronounce a word one way, and the other would tell us to pronounce it another way. You had to remember which one wanted which pronounciation when you had your oral exams or you could blow it.

Hehehe... oral exams... blow it.... heheheheh.
