Lightning ran in on mine through the surge protector, while it was off and the modem was disconnected. It still fried the modem and the motherboard.

Go figure. But I still haven't gotten back the functional parts yet. People won't ever call me back. I'm going to haul my butt over there and get my parts, and they'd better give them to me, or I'll be rather peeved.

Haha, my friend's uncle's computer was once wasted because of lighting. He bought another one and protected it with those.. eh, those you put into your wires and they protect your machine from too much power? (Just can't remember what those are called.. :))

Anyway, they just got everything in place and running, and I for some reason went to play with it... So, when I was quitting, the computer just refused to shut down from the power switch. I, just learning to use the damn machines (a whole lifetime ago.. well, almost), remembered somewhere that in some computers there was a button behind the tower which shuts the whole thing down. Apparently, when I fingered at the back, I switched the voltage-setting smaller and thus exploded the power source. Neat. :)

I really don't know why I'm telling you this, maybe it's my subconscious urge to humiliate myself. I seem to do that a lot.

So, what do we learn from this? Even modern thingies designed to protect your computer can't protect from me. Demolition Jouni! Hmm.. Maybe I should have stayed in topic. Well, close enough.. Eh, ok, I'll just shut up now.
"The juxtaposition of form and function wherewithin the corpereal embodiment of this one true, sacred, and pure form is simply an antediluvian spectre harking back to the very epitomy of architecture. I find your work striking...it has panged my heart to the basest metals of my soul.

Remember, simplicity, form, and soul are the keys to success in this field."

The trouble I had was around Thanksgiving last year. I did get angered and with a mighty roar, did drive my fist through the glass of the scanner. Later I replaced it with one of inferior quality. The lesson here is to walk away when you get mad at your comp.

Well, i've had my fair share of computer problems... but i'm not the artist. does that make me immune to this syndrome? :o if not... i can recover within four hours (done it twice this month). (i'm one of those guys who can screw a computer over and fix it before the COMPUTER knows about it.)

on a side note. a computer is like a bike. NEVER LET ANYONE, i mean ANYONE else use it if you plan to keep uptimes longer than three days. my mom, however, is a computer illiterate-to-a-"t" person. i am constantly repairing her computer all the time. personally this is annoying me. this is the real threat. the Big Man in the Sky isn't destroying our computers, it's all the other ppl who get to the computer that do it!

::Does double take::

It took me a moment, but I just realized that you do Sedin Saga, Kodama. So it was in you signature, I'm slow!

Love your work.

Sorry to stray off topic... ummmm... I'm replacing my computer as soon as I get my next paycheck. I'm hoping that will stop my pc problems.

AAAHHHHH!!!!!! :o

I have been struck by the curse of the cartoonist! It has claimed the life of my only internet connecting computer! I blame all of you for pointing out this horrible curse: your based belief has given life to a monster! A monster!

::Breaks down crying::

Run while you still can.

NOTE: This is why Lemon and Lime Light has not been updated. I am typing remotely from a space station in low orbit at my friend's house.

I'm still trying to dig bits of the comic out of 5gigs worth of bad sectors on my hard drive after a powersurge went through my powerbar that *should* have prevented it. :evil: Now all I need is for my scanner to give up the ghost, which I'm expecting anytime soon. *grumble grumble*

Yummy disk drive, yum yum!

Post by ZOMBIE USER 8124 »

Hmmmm...my whole computer hasn't fritzed quite yet, but I't has developed a few quirks since the local idiotic cable company (adelphia, anyone?) began it's quest to install the correct cable and other wire crap for cable modems. What happened, is that we got major power surges, and part of my RAM fried (yes, part) I used to have 180 MB, now I only have 160 MB. Well, after this, my cd rewritable drive decided it didn't like burning at speeds higher than 4X otherwise it would give me a funky bus-device reset fatal error message. Then, my Zip Drive began eating Zip disks, making horrid chomping and grinding noises. Then, my scanner wouldn't work for all day one day, then magically, the next day it was fixed. And internet explorer causes an error in kernel 32, and it closes the internet explorer window, but it won't close the error box. What is going on here? What will go next, I wonder? Hmmm...probably Photoshop. It errors out 5 times every day until it finally boots, except if I have Winamp on, or I am loading an internet explorer window. My computer is...evil. That's why it's called B.B.C.O.S. I had a computer in my animation class called this too, because it would shut on and off for no reason at all. But I digress. B.B.C.O.S. stands for "Breech Birth Clild Of Satan" Don't ask why, it's because it's evil. My original 4 gig harddrive was called "Death", and then when I got my 20 gig one, I called it "Giga Death" and when I got my laptop it had a 1 gig harddrive, so I called it "Chibi Death". I have computers that work, yes, but they are like zombies: limbs and things are falling off at irregular intervals: An arm here, a leg there, some moldy teeth here....um...
Ok, I've bored you all enough now. (Hey! I'm an insommnia cure!)
