Hiya
I, registerd for a keen space acount about a month agoand they
told me that my acount would be ready on the 27th, today's the
28th , it's not like I'm very impatient or anything but I have a sceduel to keep, I'm not sure if its me or the system, ( I dident really understand
wich forum was mandatory to join, I hope it was this one ) anyway , my
point is , do the registrstrations for web comics get delayed sometimes
any inf will be greatly appriciated ^_-
How long dose it take for your keenspace acount to be active

Who gave you a date? I've never heard of that before, unless it's something new...

You can find out if it's already been created with this nifty script by kisai.
Even if one of the wranglers told you they should be setting up sites on the 27th, unerstand that delays are part of the free keenspace expierience. If a problem comes up or they're just busy it could be a while before they actually get around to it. I would wait a week before I started worrying.
Very little occurs right on time at keenspace, expect delays and deal with them.

That date, was when Keenspace first started taking comics in.
If you want to be picky about it... heh heh
In reverse cronological order, the last few times new comics were added:
May 20th (help@ got "my account doesn't work" from 1/3rd of these people)
March something 2002 ... (would have had a more precise date, but all "never started" comics now report 0 instead of the creation date, oops.)
Janurary 11th(I think) 2002 , lots of e-mails never made it due to the upstream provider having broken reverse-dns lookup, as far as we were concerned, they were recieved, but the clue was several ISP's (AOL being one of them) were reporting back open-relay problems.
November 3rd 2001
September 4th 2001
June 27th 2001
May 9th 2001
April 13th 2001
and nothing before that is dated.
So if you look at this pattern, the longest was between june and september 2001. However the typical pattern is every two months. So if I were to guesstimate, I'd say probably late July. Also depends if/when the new server comes in, since it would be absolutely silly to add any more accounts to the existing one, and then replace the server.

You can still advertise, just put "coming in august". I must admit that having nothing to run to the nearest internet access point and look at does decrease effectiveness.
While I was waiting for my keenspace account, I worked on stuff using a tripod account (back when they weren't so restrictive). It at least allowed me to share what I was working on with some friends easily. Moving to a new address isn't too bad, as long as you make the announcement big and at the top of the page.
