Sh1t dude, I don't want sex.twentyfour wrote:Yea.. I can remember the good old days when I was curled into a little ball of angst too... sigh... 3 long years ago... don't worry Wiebe! Sex is just 200 bucks away!Wiebe wrote: Apparently I was considered "hot" at some point. I think some of the exact words I heard describe me were:
"He's a stud" and "Talking about wonders of the world..."
Those are just some me or my friend overheard...
But I'm 19 and forget what a girl is, so it's impossible that I have a "girl" "friend."
Wait, what's a "friend" again?
I can think of at least ten reasons why I wouldn't want to have sex at this point of my life... most of them go like this: I DON'T WANT TO GO TO HELL!

Even it it's not religious... which is something you can assess for yourself... it seems so morally wrong.

Sex itself isn't wrong... after all, if there is a God then s/he created sex.
So if the previous statement is true, I come to the conclusion that God meant sex to be done in a certain way.
I can't really figure it out and it's real confusing... maybe it's just 'cause I don't get none.

Well hey, I'm not really cool after all, am I?
Oh wait, there I go again...
Somebody stop me.

Well, near as I can tell, the-powers-that-be created sex for homosapiens to multiply, at random, which whom they choose. Monogomy is a false practice then in that light and more so since other primates act on the dominant male system, which forgoes the pairing system we have developed.
Long story short; the way sex for humans was created means no marriage, no morals; just dominance.
Fortunatly I follow my own beliefs, if I love someone that much that I can act out what I consider the highest form of intimacy I can to my knowledge, if I love them THAT much, then marriage means nothing and any god that says different isn't a god that is fit to call themselves 'forgiving', 'loving' or to condemn others to a pit of pain and fire and hatred based on that 'love'.
If you are worried about Hell then you shouldn't be worried about commiting acts of love, but rather acts of hate.
Follow this mandate; PLUR:
Peace, Love, Unity, Respect.
THAT is the road to happiness; not living out a life you're afraid to live.
I'm going off to bed.

Believe it or not Razi, you are expressing a common opinion. I don't have a problem with that so long as you don't. But here's what I think:
Many of us like to think we are "original" in our thinking. In other words, we put ingenuity above morality.
Many of us like to think that we are "logical" as well. Has anyone here put their belief system under a microscope and validated it with their "logical" minds? Not only are you likely to find:
A) Contradicting values, but also B) that your belief system doesn't line up with anything (except for - perhaps - your own good).
This is what I'm getting at Razi: the opinion you have expressed in itself may not be common (I know it sounds like I'm contradicting myself but bear with me), but the way you think is.
We live in a postmodern world. This means that people build their opinions and values around what suits them best. Most people do believe in that.
If there's any sign that we're not fully wired to think logically, that would be it. Which gets me thinking Razi... isn't there something beyond this world? And isn't there a way that my values can line up with something meaningful and purposeful? There is...
