The best thing to happen to some people,is Resident Farmer. The best thing to happen to me is cel-shaded graphics and translated Japanese Anime. Whoo-hoo!

I suppose Notepad could be considered a Microsoft product, but I counted it under 'Other' since I suspect you were suggesting some other Microsoft product. Notepad has a streamlined interface, fewer extraneous features than any other editor, never garbles your code and well within most people's price range. I've never found a better program for HTML.

The only reason I use a editor is when tables need to be made and even then only really complex ones! In fact my site was produced by about 99.9% Notepad! Some of the cool scripts were just borrowed from flamingtext.com.

Praise Notepad in all its simplistic glory!

Textpad (http://www.textpad.com/)

It's a full-featured text editor, without any fancy stuff like Word/Wordpad.
I also use it when programming.

Dreamweaver, baby. It's pretty, effective and even knuckle-dragging techno-dunces like myself can wrap thier neanderthalic heads around it.

PLUR, bitches.

HotDog Pro 2.0, baby. It's the only web editor I've ever used and liked, despite the fact that it's 7 years old. It's so rudementary, I might as well be using Notepad.

I'm a notepad user myself. I did use Adobe at one point for tables, which helped me to understand them. But now I don't use any editors. I've been using notepad for 4 years.

I use Radek 2.0 (c). Good for all of your web-wrangling needs.
