This is getting incredibly old

Post by Visualkei »

I have asked for help on this earlier before, but gotten none. For some reason, my page has not updated for about 5 days now. I have tried going into site maintenence and requesting a full update at least 50 times in the past few days, and nothing has changed, this being especially bad, because in the ftp, I can see all the new things I've uploaded, but the page refuses to update. Any suggestions, or explainations as to why this is are welcome.

I'd love to help, but I'm having the same troubles as you. It's been like this since May 22nd. I've been posting my problem on a bunch of these messages in hopes of my cries being heard...

What is your username, have you e-mailed help@ , did you delete the public_html/workspace symlink or public_html/d/template.html symlink by accident, have you checked your information to see if a update time is set?

My username is whatever. I've emailed help@keenspace a couple times. I'm pretty sure I haven't touched anything in my FTP and I'd check the site management options but I can't seem to login.

Looks like your data is damaged or something

If you can't get into the regular change user data, try http://cerror.keenspace.com/cgi-bin/mem ... serdata.pl

Done that, and all the info is blank...so I changed it and went back to see if it saved...nope! So, your guess is as good as mine. I hope it's nothing too bad.

:( This sounds close to a problem that I am having. My site hasn't been updating so I tried several times to do a manual update, nothing. I went to the FTP site that keenspace provided to see if I could see a problem. The entire workspace folder was GONE! It has been replaced with someone else's drawing. ??? There is nothing there to load new information into (if there is, I have no idea how to). I have written the wranglers twice now, however no one has gotten back to me yet as to what is happening. Help :(

If there is a physical problem with your directory structure of your account, e-mail help@ with the "I HAVE EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE" subject, be sure to include your username(do not e-mail if you simply can't connect via FTP, many many users are doing this when the server is down thinking their account is broken, it is not.)

As for the previous user, red_today, I have fixed that problem, just verify that the information is correct.

I emailed the wranglers with the instructed subject of Earthquake Damage. Is this something in addition to waiting for the new server to be brought online, or is this something someone can fix as is? Please let me know what's up

The "problem" that most of the "earthquake damage" users had is that the account information was missing from the database as well as the autokeen dat files (which are only altered by changeuserdata)

I ask that users try to fix problems themselves first, as many problems, with the exception of the "missing/broken symlinks" problem can be fixed by the user just creating the missing files or directories.

However there are a few cases where a users directory structure got demolished, directories becoming files, files becoming directories, files or directories disappearing (always keep backups) from the server crashing.

The support system is suffering from severe lag, so most help@ requests made in the last 3 days haven't been answered simply because the page is timing out before a reply can be sent. I'm trying to get through them, but the other wranglers might not be getting the chance.

wapsisquare is a unique problem and I'll try to raise someone who can fix it, or at least restore the directory structure so it's usable.
