Meep?

Post by Mitya Shostak »

The messageboard says that we all signed up as part of the Keenspace MB community on 31 December, 1969.
What the heck?
Does anyone know what happened?

I think that's because the member database is older than phpBB itself... Since the member creation date is before the world began (according to phpBB), it picked the default creation time of 0 (or 1, or something), which is set (as a standard?) to Dec 31, 1969, when the world of computers was created (okay, that last bit isn't accurate -- computers existed before then -- but they had to pick something).

All that means is, your account was created before phpBB was brought online, and so it classifies you as beginning at 0-time (or at 1, I'm not sure), which is, by default, 12/31/69. (Computers also measure time in seconds.. so, at the current rate, sometime in 2012 computers won't be able to measure time properly 'cause the numbers will be too big. Well, sometime in the future. Iduno about 2012.)

No. Actually, I think the phpbb has altered our respective historical realities to reflect our registering on the exact same day at the close of 1969. You'll notice that LBJ is registered here too.

Untitled!-- It's a comic strip. No. Really!
And yes, I admit, I stole this sig code directly from Crash, with him standing here so if it doesn't work it's his fault.

When your comic is working now, Ms Mitya, can you maybe provide us with a link?
I know I at least would like to take a look. :)
Pretty please?

It's called Alto Clef, and it's at http://altoclef.keenspace.com
Today is the premiere day, so there's only one strip up now, but I've uploaded more.

But you don't wanna see it, really...It looks mighty bad compared to yours!

Hmm, I've been able to access your comic earlier, but right now it doesn't work for me either, how strange.
It's been the "and this is a viola"-comic, was it?
Looked nice so far, as I recall, and surely not like raodkill im comparison. ;) (I really, really hope I recall that link decribtion you gave on the page right here, heh)

When it's working again, I could try myself at some constructive criticism, when you want too?
Would gladfully try to be helpful. :)

It could be said that December 31, 1969 was the day that the 60s ended.

Wow, the forum's working again!
