I don't think this storyline is too close to the Victor story. Sometimes it happens all at once in real life too. Happened to me. For 3 years, nobody expressed any interest in me what-so-ever (that I noticed anyway). Then, bang! Three invitations on dates from three different guys over the span of two weeks. Actually kind of frustrating and awkward when they're all nice guys and you already care for them all on a "friends" basis.
--Imp

I was wondering when Jackies fridge was finally going to have its "Lesbian/bi character who is attracted to the female lead causing all manner of titillating sexual tension" story. At least one is mandated by law for all web-comics, ya know.

Hey, anybody besides me notice that we're starting to draw some of the lurkers out into the conversation? Psychoblonde and me may be crazy and silly, but we know how to inspire people what to say.
And I'm not eating ALL the survival rations, Psychoblonde. I'm leaving you the freeze-dried spaghetti.
(and it's getoniwithitOSIS, not getonwithititis. That's a totally different thing.)
-Zodo

Ooo, freeze-dried spaghetti...how...digestable.
Yeah, I've noticed that too zodo. Kinda makes ya misty, doesn't it? That we're inspiring today's youth...
Actually, scratch that, that scares the hell out of me.
-PsychoBlonde

With all my faults, and I got a lot of 'em, I'd rather that kids follow my example than the example of some monster, like Tim McVeigh.
-Zodo

Lurker, yes, I excell at that. This posting thing is kinda new to me. But, I'm not new to Jackie's Fridge. In fact, I have photos of the apartment that inspired Jackie's. I might even have a pic of the Fridge's prototype, but it has been a while since I looked at them.
Hmm...and I have a new scanner that needs testing.
--Imp

Nah, waiting for Poe isn't the way to summon him. He'll show up after this topic has been taken off on tangents, run around the block a few times, and brought back, to the point where you're no longer expecting him.
Then he shows up!
Of course if you're expecting him to do that, he'll pop in and make the fourth post on the topic, and cause the first tangent.
-Zodo

The one and the same. He reads this forum, and I assume he reads the comic strip as well. Every now and then he posts too.
-Zodo

It's not Tenchi. If it were Tenchi, EVERY character in the strip would be (for some reason) lusting after Jackie. I actually watched an episode of that the other day, and I still don't understand it. He's just this little nebbishy guy, and there's like a half-dozen vastly-powerful women all throwing themselves at him? What's up with that? Some geeky little animator's fantasy life? =)

I wouldn't worry about it, BJ. =) Sure, she's short and neurotic, but she's also a redhead, and everybody loves redheads!
Besides, personally I think Ada is more attractive, but Jackie is 'cuter'. =) Melissa's a babe, of course, but she's married (*sniff*).
Just have to introduce more people who are flirting with Ada. I volunteer! Woo!
-PsychoBlonde

The reason she gets all the attention is because she's the protagonist.
Also, she is cute.
I personally find tall women to be very attractive, but I seem to be the exception to this. I've noticed that a lot of guys tend to prefer shorter women. Maybe they find someone who doesn't literally look up to them to be intimidating.
-Zodo

I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE
HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE
HATE HATE HATE HATE love stories.
Moving on...
I think that Joey may have a point. Granted that JF currently doesn't revolve around Jackie and the people who love/lust/stalk her, but I could understand how things could quickly spiral out of control.
What drew me to this strip and kept me here were the funny ways that characters act. I especially laugh when Pig and Fridge are around doing their nonsensical stuff. This is not to say, though, that I don't pay attention to Melissa's and Ada's veiled commentaries on life.
But between Victor and Caryn and Alka-Seltzer Guy and [insert mystery suitor here], there is the risk that the strip could approach the Tenchi mentality. And that would be a shame, especially since many of the non-Jackie characters can easily carry their own storylines.
Personally, I'd like to see what Ada, Shannon, Melissa, Brandy and Gin have been up to. An Ada/Pig confrontation, for example, would probably write itself. ^_^
To make a short story long... you're not at Tenchi level yet, but you're getting close.
One question for you: What do you envision the JF path to be? I'm not going to assume that I know, what with me not being the artist and all... ^_^;;

Alka Seltzer Guy hardly counts, W4. =)
And besides, I doubt the JF-Caryn is going to end up with Jackie. There's nothing wrong with having characters have 'real lives' inside the strip. The characters, while living bizarre and strange lives, still have a semblence of reality to them; there's no weird aliens, magical fairies, etc.
Personally, I love the whole X likes Y, but Y likes W, and W likes potatoes thing (bonus points if you can guess the reference for that).
Love stories can be a lot of fun, and can cause endless speculation. =)
It's not Tenchi. If it were Tenchi, EVERY character in the strip would be (for some reason) lusting after Jackie. I actually watched an episode of that the other day, and I still don't understand it. I was actually hoping one of you guys could tell me what the JF path is, because I honestly have no clue.
In retrospect, the Victor story arc and the Caryn story arc followed too closely together. There's a Shannon & Melissa story I NEED to do, and I should've put off Caryn in favour of it, but the Caryn intro fell together much better, much faster.
I don't want to fall into the trap of everybody-dating-everybody-else, and after the Caryn story winds up in a couple weeks, we'll get back to business as usual. At this point, I'm laying some much-needed groundwork for a few future stories, which is something I've never done before.
I've had time to think about what Joey said, and of course, she's right (girlfriends always are, you know). So apart from the Mystery Suitor, this is it for people falling for Jackie.
...and the jury's still out on whether or not any of the human characters can understand what the Pig is saying.
Once I finish the luuuuvv story, I'll get back on my soapbox.
------------------
