Yo yo you cartoonist people. Is there anyone out there who makes a webcomic which looks like a comic book and is updated every week, but isn't a comic book? I ask this because it looks to me like I'm the only person who does this. Either I'm way ahead of my time, or I'm just in the wrong medium. So...any other comic book webcomics?

Since April of 2001, my comic, Grimstone, has used a comic book format. It use to come out weekly, went four straight months with a new comic each week. Took a few months off, tried an experiment where I did a flash comic 2-3 times a week. Then things went wacky. But I just finished reformatting the Flash stuff to a comic book format. I use Adobe Illustrator, with a template modeled after a Blue Line Pro comic board. 11 x 17, 10 x 15 image area. the whole nine yards. The final comic is 50% smaller. Probably more information than you wanted, but I tend to be long winded. To sum up, no...you are not alone.

That's what I do. Even down to the fonts and page sizes. And the art/coloring style.

Check out my linkspage, and click on the "form" section -- you'll find a "full-page layout" format category, as well as a "manga-page layout" category... and those are only the ones that I read...

My comic is kinda like that! I keep each storyline to about 10-15 comics long and in book format. I even make covers!

Shifters is done in comic book style rather than strip style. Each story is done as an " issue " even. My early ones even had covers.. but I got a big lazy about that.

i really don't know what my style is. i don't like to think of my comic as a comic "strip" because it's not in any strict rectangle format. as a matter of fact it's not in any strict format. the only thing i do is not make it any wider than 760 pixels, because that's inconvenient for us people with 800 x 600 monitors. but height-wise i have no problem. the last strip i made was 749 x 1540 pixels big. which is inconvenient for people with dial-up connections, but i'm not in that group so screw those jerks.

anyway, i cuess if you had to call it anything mine would be a comic book format. but i prefer to think of it as just storytelling format.

Comic book format? Indeed! Although it took me a while to settle on a specific drawing style...I started out by keeping the penciled work, Then I tried to go down the ink route, but that made it look horrible. Now I'm back to the sketchy style, but rather like it that way. And I only color when I really have to. Cause I really can't...damn covers...
