'Godfather' huh?

Siigh... I guess that makes me the disowned, redheaded bastard stepchild that the rest of the 'space family openly insults at the christmas reunion...

------------------

Not openly insults--we'll wait until you're in the kitchen sampling the pound cake.
BTW, congrats on the move--hope the 'Spot is treating you well! I'm sure John'll be right on your heels. THEN we'll see some Godfather action...

Who we are huh?
Name: Seamus
Location: Edmonton, Canada
How I found the fridge: Not _exactly_ sure, I think a webcomic I read had a link to JoBeth, I thought it was OK, wandered back every once in a while, then JF started up (yes it was a while ago)... and I was irrevicably hooked.
All we need now is JF to go to daily! And BJ, you draw very well, you have trouble with... elbows and a few other things. You do everything else well.
Don't be so hard on yourself. Sit back, reflect for a sec, and honestly say to yourself "I draw very well." If you can pull it off it's a wonderful feeling.
Peace out people.

Hey Seamus! I'd LOVE to pull JF daily, but that probably won't happen for a while. Let's see if I go nuts at three a week first. If not, then....maybe.
Also, I'd like to have time for other projects, like the (long overdue) Sam miniseries and a crossover or two. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gi ... elbows...I can understand, since I don't draw them often and thus have no practise at it. What other things? I know I've got my share of problems (mirror image any of the strips to see what I mean) but I'm so close to the work it's tough for me to see where I need improvement.
I can't tell myself "I draw very well", but I do like telling myself "I draw much better than I used to"! This is true. I just unearthed a bunch of art from 6 & 7 years ago that SUX! I'll get them up on the pages soon so you can have a look at what I mean. It's quite a trip down memory lane! I know I also have stuff from 10+ years back, which will also go up when I find it. Some of it is even Shannon's fault!
Well thanx for digging up the strip--I'll try not to let you down!

The coolest part of digging up your old drawings is that you can look at it with a fresh eye. Almost as if someone else had drawn them. I wish I could see my present artwork like this. Sometimes I feel like what I used to draw looks twenty times better than what I do now. My strip just looks like crap to me, but it doesn't stop me from drawing it. BJ, Your drawings are awesome, I have no complaints. Just going through your archives shows how much you have improved. You are definitely one of the best on keenspace.
Pauly

Now I am intrigued... Does this nostalgia have anything to do with the enigmatic (and barely legible) comic at BJ's table in the Keenvention?

Nope...that's actually a pencil sketch for an upcoming miniseries of BJ's.
By the way, BJ - the Sam strip looks funky because you saved it with black set as transparent - go back into ThumbsPlus, open it, do a save as, uncheck the transparency option, and then reupload...then it'll look like ya want it to.
-Shannon

How I discovered the fridge: I think it was a link in a post on one of the "What non-Keenspot comics do you like?" threads in Keenspot Central.
------------------
"Truth hides on the other side of a two-way mirror
In countless documents sent straight to the shredder
That might finally give us the whole of the picture
But until the day we decide to dig a little deeper
We know that truth will hide
Under fallen rocks and stones
At the end of a disconnected phone
Down an unmarked street
And buried, deep beneath your feet."
- Asian Dub Foundation, "Truth Hides" from Community Music
