Hi Everyone-

First off, let me admit that this is a totally off-topic topic. BUT, the powers-that-be gave me the okay to post this, so here it is. (Thanks, Gloria!)

I do a couple of shows at our college radio station here in Plattsburgh, and we're supposed to start webcasting this weekend. I don't know how many of you would like the kinds of music I play, or how many of you would be even vaguely interested in listening, but I wanted to invite everyone on the forum (and anywhere else, for that matter) to listen to my shows, IF we're up and running this weekend.

I'm on the air Sunday and Monday from 3 to 5 Eastern Time (18h to 20h Universal), and the link can be found at www.wqke.net The shows are called Crash 'n' Burn, and I try to play a lot of newer indie, punk, punk/pop ( -/ska, -/whatever), along with whatever people request or I just feel like playing. Almost all of our music comes from independent labels--no Britney or 'NSync!! We're a noncommercial station staffed and run by students, so we try to stick with new bands on smaller labels that never get airplay on the big stations.

Can anyone make suggestions for what I should play? I'm taking requests and I'd love to hear from all of you . I'm going to try to take requests during the show, but if you send suggestions to me beforehand (email, ICQ, AIM below), I'll see what I can find and put together a list. I'd be really grateful, 'cuz while I love being on the air, I love it even more when people actually enjoy my show. Even if you don't plan on listening, I'd like to know what bands you would want to hear played on the radio so I can bug my music director to get 'em.

Thanks for putting up with this, everyone, and please give me a listen!

Thanks again, Gloria, for letting me post this. I'm very glad to hear that you're feeling better!

3-5 five eastern time, subtracting 6 hours...hmmhmm...okay, as soon as the site you linked to is finished and offers to listen to the radio over the 'net, I'll try to catch your show.

And a some suggestion for what to play...let me think...oh, how about the Kaffee song?

Heh, Devska, are you kidding? I was singing that song when we were in the Bean on Saturday. Heehee.

If I may suggest, Play some Five Iron, play some Finechina, play anything on Tooth & Nail Records, fpr that matter, even though they're all going Emo now....

Eheheheh.

Hey all,
Thanks very much for checking and trying to listen. We had our staff meeting tonight, and the tech director said that they're having a hard time getting the ICEcast server to work right. He's busy trying to graduate, so I'm not bugging him about it too much.

TwoDifferentSox, who performs the Kaffee song? If I can find it, I'll play it!

Starfox, I'd love to have that list! I'm going to join the Music Department so I can sort through the new stuff and help pick what goes into rotation.

And I've got you covered, Gloria. Even though you couldn't hear it, I snuck in Kamikaze from Electric Boogaloo and, wonder of wonders, Julianna Theory! We just got Songs From A Different Room in, so I played Liability "for Gloria".

Thanks for writing, everyone. Sorry to cry wolf-when we're really webcasting, I'll let let you know. If there's anything else you want to hear, mail me or message me and I'll try to dig it up!

I do.
::chuckles::
Well, sort of. I've been in...some kind of band thingie once (calling it a full grown band would be a bit too much) playing the bass, and that was a song we performed, written by the lead guitarist.
And I wasn't serious, it's not that good, so don't worry searching it.

Oh yeah, before I forget:

Dude, that is a REALLY cool song. I'm not joking! It sounds cool, and the lyrics are GREAT! But, by far, the best thing about the song is the bass player. : ) *honest smile*

*grins and sings* "Und gummib

This is college radio we're talking about, man. We're not concerned about "good." As Bono once said, "Taste is the enemy of art."

So the question is, do you have a recording of Kaffee?

Don't say I did not warn you later.

And ignore the page layout, I just needed to place the mp3 online quickly some time ago and put everything together in five minutes (including the registration at geocities).

HA! I love it! That's so cool! I know just enough German to understand about half of the song (but the translation helps a lot), and that is hilarious! Of course, I am a coffee addict, so I might be biased.

Thanks for posting that, TDS! I think I know a few other songs that it'll go well with-I'll put it in a block. You rock!
