Yeah I think you should be patient, you've only been around for I think about a little over a month right?
I really like your comic, but give it time my comic has been around for around 8 months, and we're just now starting to get some decent pageviews.
You can start posting a message like this 6 months from now if there is no big chance, but right now wait a while and be happy for the fans you have right now.
------------------

Read it because it's back from hiatus, and needs time to grow once more.
One last thing....GARRY VALK!!! that is all.

I wasn't expecting to get a response so quickly. I'm glad you like my comic
And yes, I should be patient. I month isn't very long after all.
It's just that this is the first time I can show my work to the world! And I'd like to hear back from the world. You know.
But, I mustn't complain. I wasn't complaining, was I? Well I mustn't anyway.

Hey, just wait and they will come! It takes time for your audience to surf their way to you. Last September I got a daily average of 52 pageviews. I now get ten times that much (1000%) a day, which is still not that great but that makes me happy. I predict if I stay around long enough I will increase another 1000%!! Don't quit, stay steady and keep improving! That's the key. When people realize that you WILL be around for a while they'll love you more and more I think.

I guess patience is the key. Lots of patience. M.A.C.Studios has been around for a little more than a year now, and still nobody reads our stuff. Actually, maybe links from POPULAR sites is the key. I'm probably the wrong person to ask.
------------------

Hey, you got me onto your site this morning (before I even saw you begging on your knees ) That's... a very interesting *skinny* creature Actually, those Uyalls are quite adorable..
From somebody who hasn't read that many online comics before (and was literally dragged onto Keenspace, but is now quite veritably hooked), you've got a really sophisticated style, and I love the melodramatic Hal (he's so cute ). Don't worry about the slow acceleration of readers... I'm sure it will be a very frequented site soon
BTW, you seem to update pretty often... is this why you don't do colour? Cos I'd love to see some with colour
------------------

For comparison, Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan had 130 daily visitors when I moved it to Keenspace in November. Now it's 500 on a good day (the average including the weekends is 400). 600 on a great day. Growth does take time.
White House in Orbit, on the other hand, has about 50 daily visitors, same as you. But it's only been a few weeks so that doesn't bother me.
------------------

Boy, It sure feels good to hear from people who like my comic. I think this is the best part of doing comics, hearing from your readers. Thank you all ~sniff~
I've been trying hard to stay on a regular update schedule because I want to get the story started and moving (it's still at the introduction faze), and also because I don't want my readers to get bored with it.
I don't color because, it would take longer, I don't like to color too much, and I kind of like black and white.
Actually, I don't know, I like color too. Never mind. I'll stop talking now.
------------------

Don't worry, I'm not saying b&w sucks, in fact, I've been an advocate of it for years. You already have some colour drawings of your characters, I was just thinking more a once a week thing, like a Sunday special
Still, it's very intriguing, and I look forward to reading more of your stuff
------------------

Dan,
I was shown your "art site" before you started your Space Losers comic, and I was overjoyed when I found it!
To add to some of the comments made here, I would agree that time will get you the pageviews you deserve, so yeah, be patient.
Fan art and guest strips are a wonderful way to get new readers.
I'd have to say that begging often will not work, tho. I know that when someone writes to me and asks me to read his/her comic, I'm happy to, but when I get the impression that said person is begging, or if said person continues to ask why I haven't put them on my links page, for instance, I usually get dismayed and react more adversely.
Way I see it, with time, some people will find your strip, and like it. Some will like it so much that they will link to you (I have had you linked since the beginning of June ). I never ask anyone to link to me, because of the same logic.
i figure that if they like it enough, and link me, then i have earned it, and feel better for that link than i would for a link that i pestered someone for, no matter how much i want them to link to me...
you've got a good comic, dan -- i say that sincerely. you will doubtless develop a good following if you keep your story consistent as you have so far.
keep it up, man ^_^
------------------

Patience is the number one thing. However, what I've noticed from my logs is that three more things really help.
The first one, and most likely one of the better ones, is fan art. I did one for Avalon High (http://www.avalonhigh.com) and I just posted it in the forum, and from that one post it generated about 150+ visits.
Secondly doing a guest strip helps too. I'm working on a couple and gonna send them to some of the bigger comics hoping I'll get a little recognition. Perhaps I'll send one to you too Stinky
Lastly, which can often be time consuming but still helps, is to participate in some message boards for other webpages and comics. I post the odd message on Avalon, and Megatokyo, and they generate some visits. Obviously no where near the amount of fan art, but if you post on message boards, some curious (and perhaps board) person will click on it and take a look.
Remember too, it sometimes takes a while to get into a story that people will enjoy. I still don't expect people to really get into my comic for a while, but you know what, it's starting to happen woo woo!
Well, that's it from me.

I forgot one more thing. Consistancy in your updates. Bigger more known web comics can get away with it easier 'cause they've already established their main fan base, but for younger comics it's a good idea to keep your updates consistant. If you establish a routine, odds are so will the fans (if not right away eventually they will).
Quattro

------------------

Yes, fan art. I like doing fan art. I've drawn several pieces of fan art for other comics. I know maelstrom32 has drawn something for me, but she hasn't been able to get it to me yet But I'll get it eventually.
Begging seems to have helped too
------------------

hey, I dig your comic, it's one of my favorites, I want to link to you. If you got that link pic yet let me know, if not can I make one? Nate is curently running an experiment where he sees how long I can hold out before he gives me my account or I go crazy, when it's over (if I'm still sane) and my site is up I'd like to trade links.
btw, I been reading your comic since the last time you begged people to go read it, that was how I heard of it. So begging works, once my site is up, I'll be in here begging people to go read it too

I've read it too. And liked it. At first, I didn't "get" it -- the drawing style made me think it was going to be gag-a-day humor, somehow. But then I saw the link for the Epic dropdown, and then it made sense.
--Strange/Dave
------------------

Man, that first one is awful. Maybe you should make one anyway. It would probably be better than mine.
I thought you were reading my comic before I begged here.

About the gag-a-day thing. I wasn't intending for each page to end with a joke, but some pages did end with something you might think was a punch-line (though not a very good one). I don't expect the humor to be laugh-out-loud funny, just maybe slightly humorous. But mostly it's just meant to be intertaining.
------------------
