It would absolutely screw you up unless you created the exact same directory in the public directory (I think.) It's really much easier to try to avoid subdirectories.<P>Second, to do a text section that updates with your comic the easiest way is to create an HTML file with the same date as the comic but throw in a letter after the "20001221" in the file name so it comes afterwards in alphabetical order. <P>------------------

I don't want to mess up my site, so I was just wondering if creating a subdirectory in the workspace/images dir will screw anything up. <P>And someone asked this already, but I'm not sure I understand. If I want a 'news' section to update with my comic, how would I do that?<P>Thanks<p>[This message has been edited by mt (edited 12-21-2000).]

No, it goes in with your comics. AutoKeen looks in there for comics, and html <I>fragments</I> with todays date and replaces the ***todays_comics*** tag with it/them on your main page. Anything that was there before goes on to an archive page. So if you have news for a day that has no comic, AutoKeen will still create a seperate page for it in your archives.

I think you answered this question for someone else, but this is really confusing me. Maybe I'm slow.
I don't want the news section to go onto the archive page for that comic. Someone else wrote something about a tag like ***include news.html*** ( I think that's how it went). Could anyone help clarify this?
Thanks.<P>

That's one of the secret tags only the Jedi comics use. I sense much fear in you...<P>------------------

I see. To use the ***include <whatever>*** tag, you'd create an html fragment -like what I said above about useing the ***todays_comics*** tag- called news.html (or whatever), and stick it in your comics dir (I think).<P>There is no such thing as /workspace/images dir, which is why you can put sub folders there.

It's actually a shortcut to /public_html/images.
The shortcut /public_html/indextemplate.html is used by AutoKeen to update your page, so becareful poking around in /public_html, 'cause if you delete it, you're stuffed (at least until you get one of the admin guys to fix it).<P>------------------
