Comics start off big if they have big
friends.
I don't know what comics you might be thinking
of in particular, but I bet it was either a
gaming comic with lots of gamer site plugs, or
a comic that got referrals from lots of big comics
right off the bat.
------------------

well, what you do, is you draw about 40 strips without ANY popularity, then you do a cameo, and then BOOM! your popular.....

I think the "popularity" thing for your comic is highly over-rated, unless you're making buckets of cash.
But then again, mine is neither popular, nor making buckets of cash. Not even spoons of pennies. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/frown.g ... >Warren

The important thing to remember about being popular is that, like becoming a vampire, you can only get popular by killing those who are popular.
------------------

My plan is to post alot here in the forums then one day I'll have a comic and people will have to go there to see who the hell i am ! I am also talking to comic authors/artists that I think are really cool in hopes that I might make a few friends and I can link to them and promote their site and they might link to me... maybe not. I agree with what was said about popular comics having big friends, there are a few that I just don't get why they are in the top 10 on BigPanda because they aren't drawn very well or the story is really non-existent. Too many gamer comics out now if you ask me, if you go the gamer route you have to be pretty funny. It's hard to be origonal with all the PA rip-offs out there now. I say just be honest with your comic do what you want to do with it, it might take time, but there are people out there that will like it. Finding them might be hard though I don't think I made any sense here....
ok ok don't listen to me I am babbling..
Ren
