My best advice is to keep writing in these here forums. You don't need to plug your strip, but just include it in your tags. Get involved, and people will want to see what you do. Eventually, word of mouth will get you some hits. It takes time. So just be patient. 20 strips is still kind of early for anything drastic to happen.Pauly------------------

I can understand what you mean. I just actually started to do the same for my strip. Mind you I have a anime and comic club on Collegeclub.com and I've generated a little traffic from that, and also from friends. But it is hard, and I'm not really expecting anything big to happen anyways for a while. I give myself the summer (since I'm already out of school) before i start panicingAlso, sometimes character have to evolve and their identity has to take shape for readers to relate. I know that at this point no one can relate to either of my main characters since I've only done two strips. But after a little time, the little gags that I intend to add in soon will make people relate to them a little better.The only thing I can say is do not spam. If I see someone spewing webapges like there's no tomorrow, I tend to ingore them (no all the time)Give it a little time.Quattro------------------

Yeah, promotion is very hard. I've been at this for months and am just starting to see a little return in viewership. Getting listed on BigPanda and AstroNerdBoy helped some, but not much. Word of mouth and link trading seem to be the best ways to go, IMO.

Anyways a couple of things we have done over the years of building up traffic is...Make business cards with the URL and only the URL on it and leave them all over the place.Make some t-shirts up (http://www.cafepress.com) with the URL on itGet some pinstriping done on your car with the site on it.Ask for a lot of links and put other cartoon links on your site.Add a message board and build some community that way.Hope some of these ideas help.Silly Sausage Comics <A HREF="http://www.thatcrazysausage.com" TARGET=_blank>http://www.thatcrazysausage.com</A> [This message has been edited by Jordon (edited 05-08-2001).]

I like to draw fan art sometimes and that usually gets some people to come to my site.
Trading banners would be helpful if I knew how to do that or if I had any good banners.------------------

I'd say don't worry too much about promotion when you're strip is still pretty young (and if you're not trying to make a profit

).
I mean getting plugged or noticed is great, but I've always hoped that my viewers will look at my work, enjoy it, and then keep viewing because it's a quality strip

(but yeah, promotion *is* hard

My comic has been out since april or something I'm not sure if it's doing good (over 300 visits and over 2000 hits) but a lot of my visits came from <A HREF="http://ocad.syste.ms" TARGET=_blank>http://ocad.syste.ms</A> it's an online directory for comics (if ya already entered in it well then I guess my advice is useless <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/frown.gif"> )------------------
