Oi... I just watched the house down the road go up in flames... and the news FINALLY decides to cover this! Hey. I've packed up some of my stuff and my hard drive into my car, so I'm good, and I haven't been evacuated yet, but... Guess one of the firetrucks burned up, they've deployed 250 fire fighters, it's only 5% contained, and there is a high wind advisory blowing the fire in my direction... you gotta love southern california!
Yeah, if you don't hear from me, my gas mask failed and I've died of smoke inhalation.

Yay. We made National News. See the picture of the burned out fire truck? I've, ridden on the back of that very thing...

I suppose this is a little out of place for me to say, since I only joined this board in the last twenty-four hours, but...
Stay safe or we'll come down there and kill you.
Really. I mean it, eh?

Missed me by literally feet. Close... I'm right on the edge of the destruction. I'm safe though, praise God. My friend Dana's house got wasted... Also... one of the most beautiful parks in the area is undoubtably all ash by now... *sobs* I was so looking forward to taking Gloria there. Oh well, there's more to see around here... if it's not all gone in the morning.
But thanks for all your concern guys! I just wanted to make sure someone knew what happened to me if I got roasted!

Oh... and I'd be alright if my house burned down, but if my birthday present from TDS got wrecked... THEN I'd be pissed! (Hear that LUFTPOSTE?!)

If I'd have sent it by Luftpost (airmail), it might have arrived yet...they told me I'd take three weeks without, now it's at the end of the 4th week and still not arrived, eh.
Anyway, glad your house hasn't burned!
Oh yeah, and that you didn't either.
Has much damage been caused? It doesn't seem to have gotten much international coverage, but I didn't read todays newspaper yet though...

Considering you gave the answer in your post already, does that mean I don't get a cookie now?

I was responding to Kurayamino, but once again I didnt bother to make that clear, my bad . Yeah, I'll let my friend know that his tagline has been wrong for 2 years. All that email from him... I like Lovecraft, but he is hardly obscure nowadays. Anycow, Sorry TDS, I need to be more clear.
