...persnickety<P>For those curious, here are some differences between hares and rabbits:<P>Hare babies are born more fully developed than rabbit babies; covered with fur and able to see and hop on their own.
As TDS pointed out, hares are generally larger than rabbits. They also have bigger ears with distinctive black markings.
Hares live on the ground surface, while rabbits live in burrows.
Hares can change color. Rabbits can't.
Rabbits breed more often.
Hares can run faster and leap farther.
