Is it just me or does this suck?

Has anybody noticed that the "Big Panda link exchange" Really interferes with the loading of the page. By interfering I mean it stops the entire page load. If the bigpanda link doesn't load properly anything that loads after it, will not load at all. I've noticed this in alot of comic pages and not just mine. Maybe it's my browser or something...------------------

The only thing you have to do is put the BP dropdown at the bottom of your page. Because it's javascript it has to contact Big Panda. I think the Panda was dead earlier today so everyone's dropdown didn't show up. By putting it on the bottom of your page, everything that's important, like your comic, can load without harm. Except, I think Netscape has problems loading a page when there is a javascript error.Pauly ------------------

or something?and damonk, i went snooping thru your bigpanda folder, and i have no idea why they haven't picked up your icons yet. the only explanation i can think of is that big panda is a lazy ass.------------------

The Big Panda dropdown is complete bullshit. It's the exact same comics on every dropdown for every comic. You're not helping yourself any with it--just giving the ones already on top more hits.------------------

I no longer have the dropdown, but I've got a regular BP link to my own entry, and most of the links on my short link list are panda-ized so they count towards my total. That really works.

heh. how would i go about doing that, exactly? panda-ize, that is... i haven't done ANY promoting since december (too busy with schoolwork, dammit), and my numbers have stabalized... it'd be fun to get new readers again, and if i can do it through BP, that'd be spiffy...as for the update, bryan explained that there was a bug, and that it should hopefully be fixed now, so i should see my stuff up tomorrow...so here's hoping?------------------

Or does the panda require you to click to the bigpanda homepage between every comic visited when not using the dropdown?You're probably saying that panda-izing is valuable when you're not using the dropdown, correct? I'm pretty sure panda only counts points to you from your main page, though i'm not certain. When i put that "sexy pop-up" on my site, my panda rank jumped, but that could have been for other reasons (like escape plugging the name of my comic mysteriously with a link to BP ^^)I should probably pandaize the links on my front page (I'm five comics or so away from being on the front page again!) except, jsut like when the javascript for panda doesn't load it's a bitch, the links won't work if they're pandaized and BP is being an ass... hmmm.. i'll think of something. I got a lot of new readers the first time i got on the front page (and some fanart out of it too ^^)One more reason to say screw netscape. The clincher was them joining with AOL.. bleh... makes microsoft look just as evil, but the kind of evil you like.------------------

Ouch meg... not all aol users are evil... misguided perhaps but not evil...neways that "Pandercize" everyone is talkin about, isn't always such a great thing, when the bigpanda goes down... (which it does every once in awhile) so does your link to the other person. Pandercize... it's like jazzercize only not.------------------
