Sure you can, just ask ...uh, Gav I think... Not a difficult process, I'm led to believe.
I make currently an avg of 500/day. This is an almost 200/day increase over last month. I consider this very good numbers...it's amazing to me that so many people are reading the strip.
Money someday...at this rate...say, 7 months from now.
------------------

Oh... my bad... well, Scott's one of the good fans anyway, always willing to help out others. Even a small number of hits a day are good compared to noone seeing your work. That's what I keep telling myself. I'll get them hooked in yet! Just wait til next month when Steverino goes naked!
~Steve
------------------

I'm a cheerleading chick, I'm popular.
Steverino, your comic is excellent quality. I will put a link to it when I redo my links page. I like the professional drawing style and use of photos for backgrounds, I've thought a lot about doing that sort of thing, I've done it a little in my own strip but it's a little harder to find images for than yours. Also thought of doing something like that for another project, taking the background pictures with a digital camera.
Back on topic... Tang mentioned popular by who we should call popular and popular by who makes money off keenspace ads.
The two are kinda different. Keenspace already says they will pay you when you reach 50,000 pageviews. So, 50,000 pageviews=popular by that standard. I suppose the bigger your archive the more it can help because new readers browsing through it will give you lots of views. This along with unique visitors helps. I think I get a 5 to 1 ratio or so, 5 pageviews for every visitor, it could be better but I my archive is still small and I'll assume some are regular readers only reading the page with today's comic so only giving me one pageview. As far as popularity in the way of visitors/pageviews, that would just be measuring the different sites together, meaning you would need everyone's stats. It would be fun to browse that list, see where everyone stands... and often say "I just don't get it."
Tyler Martin

Ugh, no thanks. We've had that sort of list/thread before, and while it's a good ego boost to those at the top, for those who pour their heart and soul into their comic and get only a tenth of the page views, it's depressing.
It's not for the stats that I do it, it's for that one e-mail of forum posting that says 'Hey, I like that.'
------------------

My strip just started on the 1st and I am averaging about 500 page views a day, which I consider an awesome start. I also have an e-mail subscriber list of like 238. Of which I'm trying to get more regular visitors ot stop by the site. I just added a cool new script that will allow readers to make Gravity their homepage simply by clicking on a link. It's a good way to hook in regular folks.-
------------------

Never mind, I just found out ... and it appears I'm getting about 150 hits a day. Is that good?

Well to me, popularity is the quality of the fans and not the quanity, (That sounds cheezy huh? Well bear with me.) When I get alot of hits I admit I do a little jig but nothing compares to someone e-mailing you and saying: "Hey this is cool keep workin hard,"
but then agian popularity is just a pleasant side effect of what we love to do.

------------------

Unique visitors are not used to determine who gets the beer money. Pageviews are. According to Teri Crosby, 50,000 pageviews/month will get you in the paid category.
I say beer money, but you'd have to drink the cheap stuff, because payments are very low. If you want to be paid, find a supplementary business model (selling T-Shirts, or an Amazon bookstore, or something along those lines.)
Your visitor stats are important, but only as a way to gauge your reach, and the size of your loyal audience. The numbers should be steady, and show growth, but in your analysis, you'd have to take out the spikes that occur just after a promotion, or any random spikes.
------------------

It is statistically likely that you and Damonk get a few click-throughs from my links page. My own at the very least. I keep that page in large part because it helps me remember the increasingly cumbersome list of comics I've fallen in love with. There are still a couple I've "discovered" but can't remember how to find again.
Without that page I'd probably be able to remember three comics at most. I'm an airhead in the mornign, when I read comics.
