Want hate mail?Join a college newspaper and do a comic that involves thinking about race in any way. Even if you are saying something like "Racism is bad", you will get people fired up at you.Or as in my case a couple of years ago, do a comic that involves a person who happens to be black. The gag was about Mike Tyson, but a printing glitch at the presses made the entire issue too dark. Therefore, my cartoon Tyson came out pitch black with only his eyes and teeth showing. Even after repeated explanations from myself and editors, there were people who were convinced I was copying the racist cartoons of the past by making him "extra dark", and I should immediately be fired.------------------

My comic isn't even out yet, and I've gotten hate mail!
Here is one e-mail:
"Dear Black Box,
Your comic sucks! What the f*ck is a Black Box anyway? Who the hell thought up THAT name? Your imaginary friend, who won't even be seen with you? You stupid piece of excrement! You will never amount to anything, you little-dicked, son of a whore!!Once again, I hate you!

Oh yeah, There's some cool stuff up/upcoming in the hallways. As for Gallery 2(847 W Jackson), I know there is some show there right now, but I haven't seen it. But it's winter break right now, so not much is going on.Pauly------------------

One storyline im thinking of involves race and should get me hate mailit involves jesus-but he's black(ish)-becuase he was born in a country where everybody else is black-so why not?but that'll only get me hate mail from christian fundamentalist rednecks anyway-so i dont really mind------------------
