Well I don't really care if my strips get popular or reaches keenspot, enough for me if I can just draw my strip and write my stories, then I'm happy

Personally, I'd be worried if my strip DID get into KeenSpot. Right now my readers consist of my Dad, one of my brothers, Damonk, one of my sisters, Damonk, and my friends Geo and Paraminshanti. If I had to be amusing to more then 10 people, it would put WAY too much stress on me! Plus I might have to learn to draw!

------------------

Since I started drawing to get out all the stories that I couldn't seem to do well as prose, I'm not all that concerned about making the Spot. I do it more for myself than for others, but if people out there like what I do that's an added bonus. Sure, I'd like to know that people read my stuff and enjoy it, but if all my readership ever ammounts to is a handful of people, that's really okay with me.
BTW, scrubbo, I read "Silly Cone V," too. Honestly,
After roaming the Keenspot message boards, I get less of a feeling of community over there. Because of this, I don't even take the time to write over there. It feels like most of the toonists there are just to busy to take part in each other's work. Don't get me wrong, they do sometimes, but not as often as us keenspacers do. Right Now, I am really happy where I am, making all the friends here on Keenspace helps make what I do all the more worthwhile. It's such a priviledge to even be a part of this. Think about it, the toonists twenty years ago had nothing like this.
Anyways, if I ever get considered to move to Keenspot, which I don't see happening for several years or even ever, I don't know what I'd do. If I was really ready for that kinda exposure, I'd go for it. Right now, I'm still learning, and I love Keenspace. This is where I belong.
Pauly
------------------

The only real difference between the Spot and the Space that makes the Spot a nice plum is exposure, really...
Pauly's right when he says that we've got a strong family-type knit going on here -- slightly deranged, sometimes dysfunctional, always unique, but a family nonetheless...
The Space is certainly a good e-community for artists of all plots, desires, and designs.
And considering how strips like BJam's Doodle and Chopping block do have a strong readership, they just prove that a strong comic will get its name out there, Spotted or not...
I know that I'm fine wherever I am, just as long as I have a few readers that I can squeeze a few chuckles out of on occasion...
...
(And scrubs -- who told you that I read your strip twice a day!?? I thought my evil siamese twin was a well-kept secret! )
------------------

From an outsider's perspective it seems like Keenspacer's take it hard when one of their good strips leaves.- Not to say like anyone here is whining, it just sounds like people get disappointed. I won't lie to you, I run my strip and all my creative ventures like a business, so I go for exposure and growth. But first I have to produce a worth-while strip. I'll say this, if there is anyone on here that doesn't care whether they get syndicated or not, and that's something they don't want to persue, then I wouldn't expect to get Spotted either.- So in essence, I wouldn't set my highest goal at Keenspot, rather syndication, and Keenspot could be very beneficial to you if your product were on there.
------------------

I laugh at notion of ever being spotted but I try to make sure to congratulate those that I know who have made it as it as AN accomplishment. The topics about who gets spotted next are really a simple popularity contest among "artists" and everyone knows that.

I wouldn't say no to getting Spotted, but it's not why I do Odd Jobs.
If you love what you do, success can be measured in ways that don't involve money. At least, if you already have a full-time job.

------------------

It's just unrealistic for me to think that my comic will ever be on Keenspot. No one ever mentions my comic or links it without my specifically asking ... I'm almost certain that no one here has even taken a look at my comic.
Even though I complain about that popular stuff too much, I really do the comic because it helps me vent. The comic strip is my attempt to show a boy living in his own fantasy world believing what he wants no matter what the truth is and no matter how many people try to convince him that he's hurting himself. I'm like that. I'm absolutely sure most people don't see that in the comic and until I can portay that message I expect failure to be equally absolute.
(Brian steps down from his soapbox)
(Then he steps back on. )
Is anyone listening to me?! ^_^;
------------------

That's not true. I was bored one day and read every strip you did..... well okay. Not every strip, but close...... to half. Well I've seen it.

Hmm. Link not working. "kenspace"? That's almost too fitting for such an anatomically incorrect comic strip! I'm leaving it.
