Okay, here's something that would be cool:
What if there was a page that you could have where you could subscribe to the comics you wanted and see each new one every day?
You could set it as your home page on your browser and load it to read whenever you went online.
Basically you could make your own customized funnypapers.
Just a thought for the future...
Oooooooooooooooo...
I'm not too sure about that...
It would be great for readers in that they'd get their daily "hit", but they would miss all the blab the artists so painstakingly put on their sites! Those "daily rants" and "special promotions" and above all the plaintive cries for Fan art (or guest weeks) would go unheard! Cut off from this their only link to reality, Artists could go insane from the lack of contact with the outside world! Thousands would revert to a vegitative state, but others become violent, degenerating into primate like creatures barely recognisable as humans, skulking in the rubbish dumps for food, clubbing anything that came in range with their quill pens, shouting their much feared battle cry "Punchline, Punchline!" Whole cities would be taken over, global economic and political chaos ensues, martial law is declared! Thousands, nay, millions perish!
Um, yeah. Not a good idea.
------------------

That wouldn't be good.
------------------
Any artist can call their piece "Untitled", but there's only one Untitled Again.

I suppose the page could contain something like a tagline for each comic which includes any "special events" and links (and plaintive cries for attention: "Help! I'm so alone!" Oops... I said too much again) that the artists want to put in. If the AutoUpdate system is used, this could just be put in with the strips as a .html file, though it would show up on the comic main site too...
Hmmm (rubs chin wisely), yeees, hmmm...
It would involve extra effort that artists may be lothe to put in (or simply can't be bothered), but it could work.
I'd personally still go for the apocaliptic vision though.

------------------

I don't know- this could work, with the cooperation of artists.
Say someone "subscribes" to Guardian Angel. Before the user's page will display the comic, Bing gets an e-mail saying that someone has requested your comic. You're given the chance to accept or decline. If you accept, you don't need to say yes again until you change your mind. If you decline, the user (and any future request) is told something along the lines of "the artist you requested feels that his/her comics are best enjoyed as part of the entire site ...."
This way, people aren't having their comics linked to without their knowledge (a HUGE Internet no-no), but artists who would rather get exposure even if people aren't coming to their site can participate.
------------------
