This is a tossup to everyone on the list...
What things have you done that you found increased hits/visits to your site the most? What would you reccommend? What would you recommend AGAINST?

This horse gets beaten to death around here about once a month, it seems. That's cool. It means folks are interested in promoting their work, and there are always new folks coming to KeenSpace.
Read these posts in the thread that Capheine kicked off. Great stuff in there by Yours Truly, Jeff Darlington, and others.
------------------

Of course, pageviews are actually made of people and now as mine go on temporary decline and I enter a protective "whine" state, I'd like to add that even the most foolproof trick such as subverting slashdot's domain may not always work.
Actually, that's a darned good idea.....

As Howard noted, this seems to come up every time a new bunch of 'Spacers arrive. If an FAQ for KeenSpace newbies ever gets started, as seems (somewhat) likely, then along with the dropdowns and instructions on how to use the tags correctly all these "how to boost readership" threads should be distilled and posted there. The same stuff gets said over and over, and there's good info in them, but seeing endless repetitions on the same subject gets a tad stale.
Not that I discourage anyone from wanting to increase pageviews, or from wanting to know how to do same. There's no such thing as a stupid question, but it's even better if you don't have to ask the question in the first place. A quick primer on boosting pageviews negates the need to ask that particular one.
------------------
