Membership Drive...

Who, if the occasion arose, would like to join a company (within Keenspace, of course) for webcomics? It'd wouldn't be much except another little link to put on your page, and hits from other people's pages... you can check out what the site will be like at <A HREF="http://drollstreet.keenspace.com/Slab.htm" TARGET=_blank>http://drollstreet.keenspace.com/Slab.htm</A>. There is a small screening of the comic before you can become a member, but it isn't very much... Just wondering if anyone would be interested...------------------

I'm in for both of my comics! So this isn't that short of a message, I'd like to say that I'm really impressed with the different ways people have come up with to navigate through Keenspace. The newsbox, the guide, the fantasy and sci-fi dropdowns and my personal contribution of the banner club ... all of them I've found very useful in discovering comics that interest me. Everyone keep coming up with the ideas!------------------

Like I said, I do not think that you were/are trying to be elitist; I hope that you don't think I was implying that... I will also agree wholeheartedly that there is a lot of chaff in the Keenspace Zone tha could be culled~~ dead sites, aborted sites, stillborn sites, and even a few sites that may be deemed as crappy (but then again, that last one is purely a subjective matter).Hmm.Maybe my concern with this is that you are proposing to incorporate a "special" company within the bounds of another company whose mandate is to allow anyone to join if they are interested...If you had your own web-hosting service, then, of course, you could do as you like, and that would be fine~~ heck, KeenSpot picks and chooses; Fleen does too. However, by building a mini-service in someone else's service; I don't know, it just seems like it could (I am not saying it will, just pointing out the possibility) cause complications in the greater Keeniverse...Have you asked the Keen-admin if this was okay? If they have no problems with it, then I say, if they think it cool, then it's COOL. I'm not applying either, I just want to say something: to be honest I don't see how this is going to work. It needs to be much more specific as to what its requirements are. I mean, if you don't like the humour or style of a strip, it doesn't get accepted? Basically? How can you judge what is crap art and what isn't, by your standards? To be honest there are many people who would say the comics already on the dropdown are mostly suckers... if only because at least two of them have no art to be crap, and no humour to suck. I'm afraid that that isn't giving a very good impression to the first visitors.Can you clarify your requirements more? If it's just going to be comics that don't look bad, it really has the potential to become a REALLY long list and that would be very offputting.Mab------------------

Well, I've seen other companys withen KS, And they didn't get shut down. If KS wants us to stop it, we will move it to be independent like Fleen. In a case like Karva... everyone likes it because it's art, so no, it wouldn't be excluded. Basically yes, this is another dropdown. Yes, dropdowns are for suckers, but there's a sucker born every minute, and I'm one of them! Now, I have a place for all the suckers to hang with other suckers... you all get? P.S. Plese don't post anymore on this subjuct... If you want to complain, just e-mail me... And we're not having sign-ups through this anymore. i have to agree with maddix on this one...i'm sure that being elitist is not your intention, but i'd be afraid that this could cause a bit of problems/conflict in the Kspace community, a community that was created to accept all comics...dividing up dropdowns by genres is one thing, but choosing who does and doesn't "suck"/"fit in" might be a little risky...?i dunno.i'll wish you good luck on your project, though, and hope that you pull it off well <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/biggrin.gif">------------------

We're not meaning to be mean or anything, just to have members that meet a certain criteria... I mean yeah, Keenspace is free, and people should be happy it doesn't judge or anything, but does that mean that Keenspacers don't want to make it to Keenspot? NO! We're just a little company, not competing with Keenspace or Keenspot, we're just there. We let people sign up, we don't take all people who try, does that mean we don't like them or thier comics??? NO!!! It just means that comic doesn't have the same type of humor we want in our comic group, that's all... Sorry if we seemed elitest.------------------
