I firmly believe that the only successful communist society was The Smurfs. Think about it.
------------------

Actually, I'll be glad if is Bush is president. Then I won't feel nearly as embarassed when Chretien says something stupid.

No... wait... mmmm...
Actually, yes I know where NZ is, no I don't have a single clue as to the political situation there. To the best of my knowledge, New Zealand is a democracy, but that's about it for me. It's probably just as likely you guys have a tribal chieftan selected by which way the wind blows over a volcano and I would be none the wiser. Me dumb uhmerican.

You can't call that a communism because Papa Smurf was clearly a monarch or a despot of some sort. He may have been benevolent but it was not a leadership by the community. Papa was always in charge.

quote:
Originally posted by Doc MacDougal:

He obviously seized control at some point. Papa Smurf was an individual.

quote:
Originally posted by Doc MacDougal:

His know-how and foresight are his contributions to the society and to the workers. I doubt that Papa Smurf seized control or was born into the red hat, I think he was given it in order that someone might be able to help steer the community toward mutual benefit.

------------------
