"From each according to his ability," right? Papa Smurf obviously had the best leadership and managerial talent so decision-making was entrusted to him. His know-how and foresight are his contributions to the society and to the workers. I doubt that Papa Smurf seized control or was born into the red hat, I think he was given it in order that someone might be able to help steer the community toward mutual benefit.------------------
