Hmm, sure you weren't just fooled by a quick automatic redirect from my page at freeservers? (Did your browser window show russ.keenspace.com or www.kofightclub.com as the address when you were actually seeing my page? I still see russ.keenspace.com.) As best I can tell, kofightclub.com is still pointed at freeservers, grr, where my index.html redirects to russ.keenspace.com. Is there some magic way I can verify that that this domain transfer really is taking place? I think it's been about 48 hours now.
(Why is freeservers Satan, by the way? I liked them better than most free hosts... they had very comprehensive traffic statistics and no popup ad windows and pretty good documentation... Indeed, I'm still using them for my personal page.)
Well, hopefully this will all be moot soon

How sad! You can't even see if your own domain is working? Heh heh. Well, I clicked the kofightclub.com link again in your message, and was INSTANTLY brought to the Keenspace site, with www.kofightclub.com in the address box. SO THERE!
Oh, and as for Keenservers, they're a little slow, kinda unreliable, and I hate, **HATE** their banners. They ugly, huge, monstrous beasts that are uncustomizable! Keenspot banners, on the other hand, are normal-sized, and you can do whatever you wish with them, as long as their on top! But that's just my personal experience. I think Freeservers is quite a bit evil, but is still better than a lot of places...
------------------

Well, I finally sort-of solved the mystery...
I have deleted all temp files in Internet Explorer, I have deleted its link history, I have searched for cookies with keen and kofightclub, I have rebooted, I have turned the machine off, I have swapped what port it uses on the hub with the other machine on my lan which DOES correctly display the kofightclub url instead of russ.keenspace.com...
Finally a more Windows-savvy pal suggested I check out the Internet Explorer LAN settings and turn off proxy server in case my ISP hadn't yet gotten the domain change. Well, proxy server WAS turned off, but my other machine had it turned ON, so I turned it on and copied the relevant data from the other machine, and now it works. So www.kofightclub.com is fully redirected and hosted at keenspace, yea!
If I turn proxy server back off, then this one computer continues to take me to my old freeservers host. I have no idea why.
Windows works in mysterious ways, at least to this poor mortal.
I wonder if anyone else had this weird problem.
russ
Question
Ok i'm not very used to all of this, but this topic seems to answer a uestion i've had for a while (or rather not, as i cna't understand any of it). Anyway what i want to know is, if you can tranfer domains over (as you obviously can) how do you do it and does it cost money? i have a domain name (bought for just a tenner) and now i have a keenspace account, so does that mean i can easily transfer one to the other(or merely with the few confusing problems detailed on this page? Or is there some surcharge involved,an if so why?

If you already own a domain, set your nameservers to ns3.keenspace.com and ns4.keenspace.com. Then contact Kisai or StrRedWolf and let them know you want a change.
I don't think there's a surcharge but fanart is encouraged (option though)
