Actually, what I find interesting is how quickly this has become a battleground among some groups (albeit good-natured warfare thus far).
We had never said that things were to be secret, yet some groups are keeping their plans under lock and key.
I wonder how the Keenspotters regard us (if they regard us at all). "Look at the kids in their sandbox, playing war. So cute!"
Maybe if we had more women (characters and artists), we'd have a more peaceful coexistence. I know I'd coexist more peacefully if I had more women ...
------------------

I just find women more interesting to write than men. Women aren't afraid to speak what's on their minds, be vulnerable or talk about insecurities--and at the same time, they can be insanely strong and intimidating. They're just more complex, and I can get more mileage out of deeper characters.
And elephants. I can't stress enough the importance of elephants.
------------------

only one group has more girls than guys, one. I just wonder, why so many comics have more guys than girls? I'm jut wondering, since I've always found it easier to draw girls than guys (maybe cause I am one) but not many people feel that way. anyways, here are some more interesting facts.
group one has the most characters, with 21 of them
group 2 has the least, with 10 characters
group 4 has the least girls, with 1 girl
group 10 has the most girls, with 8

group 5 has the most guys, with 17

As of yet, I have only one girl featured prominently in my strip. The reason? Until very, VERY recently (like, two months ago) I couldn't draw a woman to save my life. I really tried, I did! But no matter how hard I tried, they looked terrible.
Oddly enough, the part I had the most trouble with is the HAIR. Go figure. Other (more anatomical) bits still took a little while to figure out, but they were easier than hair. My biggest problem is drawing hair that covers someone's ears.
My strip will be gaining at least one female cast member soon. Unfortunately, it won't be online for a bit....
WhooT!!

I have lessened my drawings of women because a lot of ladies have taken offense at my drawings of women. That's my fault I guess. I grew up with the super-hero comics. The funny thing was, I once drew an unbelieveably ugly woman and I got no complaints. Hmmmm.....Anyways, I have since shrunk the boob sizedness(fun word) and made the women appear just plain beautiful, in my eyes at least. I am studying to be a fashion illustrator as well as a cartoonist so give me a break.
That's all I have to say about that.....
Paul the purple petunia pooper
------------------

Actually Group 2 has less than 4 women... perhaps you were fooled by long haired guys?

quote:
Originally posted by Todd Michaels:

I've always found it much more interesting and easier to draw women. If I ran my comic the way I want to (and not the way those voices in my head keep telling me) my comic would have no men. Then again, there would probably be something terribly wrong with that (sexual discrimination? Being pointed to as a pervert? ) Go figure.
Bing
------------------
"Never mess with a staircase when you're drunk." Ala

I find it easier and a lot of times more interesting to draw and write about men.
------------------

I've always been able to draw women easier than men because they're curvier(and a far lot sexier, but then I would say that as I'm a man)
------------------
