I've got a Cafepress store up, and yes, nobody has bought anything from it.....except for me. I set it up cause I wanted a T-shirt for myself! And at about $12 for a one time printing of a full color shirt, it's actually cheaper (including shipping) to use Cafe Press than it is to go to a t-shirt printing place and get your design silkscreened or anything like that.
I HIGHLY recommend them for people who don't do a lot of "business" or just want shirts for fun.
Scrubbo http://sillyconev.keenspace.com

[This message has been edited by scrubbo (edited 11-02-2000).]

I was just wondering how many of you use Cafepress.com for an online store? I am thinking of signing up but I dont know whether to bother.

Nobody's bought anything of mine, either, but I'm not surprised.
I did get a tee shirt sent to me, however, and the quality was better than I expected. The transfer is sharp and bold, the colours are crisp and the process they use (although rubbery at first) seems pretty solid. And you gotta like any tee shirt with a name like "Beefy Tee".
I'd assume after years of mistreatment or regular wash cycles (or both), the design may start to fade or streak, but even silkscreening will do that after a while. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the quality.
It's worth a shot.
------------------

I have not signed up, though I have been offered a couple of times. I just don't think enough people would actually buy one of my t-shirts. Maybe if my strip gets a bit more popular, but for now, It's not for me.
If anything, I'd do it so that I can buy a t-shirt for myself. It's not usually so cheap making one t-shirt with a special design assuming that cafepress has top quality.
That's all I have to say about that.
Pauly
------------------

I have a store there, but nobody ever buys anything. But then, I also haven't been able to update my comic on a regular basis since August...
--jwh
------------------

I can't imagine anyone ever wanting to buy a mug with nippleless characters...
So I don't think I'll be putting up a store just yet...
------------------

Shannon: Cool!
Steve: I've heard that about Cafe Press. Anything outside the US gets socked with outrageous shipping costs. I don't think you're too far off in your figures, sadly. Sorry I didn't think of that until your post.
Tirdun: I think it's ~$1.37/1 pound sterling. Keep in mind that I suck at math and I can't spell "caffeine".

------------------

I just read the shipping costs for the UK. $20 for first item and $5 for each one after. Is that good value? (sorry I'm hopeless at converting currencies)
------------------

Isn't 1.00 US ~= to about 1.50 UK? Or is it the other way around. I guess I'm a huge help here...

I have a Cafepress Store: http://www.cafepress.com/boygirlclub It's a great service. I bought one of my long sleeve t-shirts (by check instead of using my credit card) and I think it's great. I got it last week and I'm wearing it right now here at school. If anyone signs up feel free to use boygirlclub as your referal thing
------------------
