Kick Granny? -Why would I want to do that?

I've just been e-mailed by the webmaster at Kick Granny (some sort of link site), asking if I wanted to swap links.
Does anybody else know of it? Have you been linked? Is it good/bad/ok/a spamophobes' nightmare? Is it worth becoming a link partner? Is it "More fun than greased ferrets on no-doz"? Why is it called Kick Granny? Why are elephants grey? Do they really keep clothes in their trunks? Why is the graphite in pencils called 'lead'? Why do americans insist on spelling colour without the 'u'? Are all these increasingly inane questions an indicator that I should be in bed rather than going to work at 2am?
Sorry sleep deprivation does strange things to my sense of humour, tomorrow afternoon I'll probably look at this post and say I can't believe I wrote that.
Anyway, back to the point, what is Kick Granny like?
------------------

I've been there and done that.
Those Americans! is there no end to their nefarious scemes? Not using the metric system, promoting bad english, making movies that rely more on effects than plot, over-commercializing the holidays, they even drive on the wrong side of the road for crying out loud! And don't get me started on situation 'comedies' like Ally McBeal.
Well I'm on to them. Oh yes. And I've got a plan so cunning you could stick a tail on and call it a weasel. Now if only I could get some sleep, I'd stop ranting like a, well, an, American.
------------------

Homophoniphobic or something.
And hey, the metric system sucks. How could someone from Britain defend a French system of measurement. It goes against everything the TV ever taught me.
------------------

Y'know the guy that actually started this was from New Zealand, not England. Also, we in Britain have to use the metric system because it is European Law. It is illegal to sell anything in pounds and ounces. Before we had this stupid law, we used imperial measurement a whole lot more than metric.

The word you're looking for, of course, is "qahllinyzed." Look, this language is quite simple. You just take equal parts French and Danish, mix in a liberal amount of Celtic types, distribute to five continents and allow to set for two hundred years. Presto! English!

quote:

I'm not familiar with that last phrase, but you probably know more about the US than I know about New Zealand (Very nearly the extent of my knowledge: sheep outnumber people).
As for "zimulated," I think Todd covered it. However, are you familiar with Zima Gold? A truly innovative product. If Zima is a clear alcoholic malt beverage, then Zima Gold is um... beer?
Matt
------------------

Oh you shouldn't worry to much about all this spelling stuff..
When Canada takes over the world, and it will within the next 50 years. You will all spell and talk like us.. Except the Kaybeckers. We're gonna ship them off to Pluto. and the France French, they'll be shipped off to pluto too.
------------------

Ah, there's nothing like a heated discussion on semantics, spelling, and grammer to foster international relations.
The missing 'h' in scheme is a result of lack of sleep, and that fact that (somewhat ironically) I failed English.
And as for Matt's remark about not being able to use 're' because of our ancestors, they're pretty much the same as yours, except Australia started of as a penal colony (now there's a phrase for you Homophoniphobes) so it got all the crims.
Yes, and you also spell laser with a 'z' even though it's an acronym for Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation. what does 'zimulated' mean?
------------------

We spell color without a 'u' because, just like your whole useless island, it doesn't need to be there!
Hate is fun.
You know, in the U.S. nobody uses the metric system except in drug transactions. Acid taught an entire generation what a milligram was, and I'm willing to bet that 99% of the people here who know the metric system backward and forward are drug dealers and people who teach it for a living.
------------------
