What do I owe fandom? The ability to think outside the box, the ability to let my imagination run free, Being able to lead and act and interact with other people. Making good friends, being able to be in and react to situations that I would never be able to do in real life. To be part of a story and to be one of many but always unique group of people. That is what I owe fandom. And it is a debt I may never repay.

Okay, what do you consider to be Fandom?
Because I've had my share of addictions (the Internet being the one that flunked me out of college twice, but lead me down the path to becoming a writer). And the way some people talk about Fandom sounds much more like addiction to me.
So the question is: What is Fandom?
------------------
