It's not the 23-sider of power, it's the 23 sides of power. It has more than 23 sides, but only 23 of them actually have power. You have to roll it once and get one of those sides. So yes, we may still be safe. Or not. Heh.
Actually, I just wanted to say that when T announced that this story would be the scariest story yet, I thought of something maybe Lovecraftian, but this... damn that line from Agent Jones, "Peel her mind like a grape." Now that's scary.
--Tuscahoma

Who fully expects Miller and Sully's children Morbida and Fenrir to dress in tidy Sunday School clothes and call themselves 'Tracy' and 'Andrew' when they want to rebell against their parents (Whew.. that was a long one.)

Which reminds me about what Neil Gaiman told his daughter when she said "I'm a Goth."--"You are not. The only reason other Goths would talk to you is if they wanted my autograph. If you want to genuinely rebel from me, go get yourself some nice sweaters to wear." (I'm paraphrasing, of course.)

It's a Second Declension masculine noun.
It declines as:
.....................SINGULAR PLURAL

GENITVE..........dei...........deorum

FTR, in Latin the words for "dice" are "aleae" and "talaria". I'm not even going to attempt to conjugate the entire motto of the Knights of the Dinner Table into Latin ("Roll for Initiative, Monkeyboy!") because that would indicate I have too much time on my hands.

If Tom doesn't get a move on with ICOC, I'm going to have to carpe GM (or ST, but that wouldn't have quite the same ring to it.)
Not proper Latin, I know......

Is -im a plural ending in Latin? I thought that was Hebrew.
cherub -> cherubim
seraph -> seraphim
el -> elohim
I know -es is a plural anding in Latin, and -em is a singular accusative, but I don't recall -im.
------------------

You're right, -im is not a standard ending in Latin. It only pops up in a few places, and is quite irregular.
-es and -em are Third declension Masculine-Feminine endings (not neuter! I got squashed on the College Roomies From Hell(TM) board for making that mistake).
------------------
