I know the next will be "The Matrix", then that'll be it (most likely, anyway), but how about WE do one?
I put in my vote for the live-action Street Fighter movie. (that is, if anyone can find a transcript)

It occured to me that 2001 would probably be a bad idea, since so much of the movie is dialogue free.
But the others all still sound good.
Nicolas

Great idea!
Making a transcript was certainly the hardest part of the two Pokemon MiSTings. I'd recommend either startin' with an already-transcripted or scripted film or committing to a whole lot of "pause-rewind."

Like dialogue-free is an issue. You should have heard me in the theatre during "Cast Away." You should also have heard the guy sitting two seats away from me. He was pretty damn clever, too.
I'm personally leaning toward THE MATRIX as well, although I'd like to see what the fans can do with something along the lines of the newest Highlander (don't know if that's what Czhorat was hinting at) or MISSION TO MARS.
... although I do recall suggesting a MST of the DOCTOR WHO 1996 TVM with the beautiful and talented Paul McGann (and the ugly and struggling Eric Roberts). Why haven't we started that, T?
Oh, right ... because it's my responsibility to get the transcript. I'm on it. *salutes*

Count me in... my nomination: Starship Troopers. The book was so much better.
Possible line:
Telepath: "It's afraid!"
Nodrog: "Oh, great, Dougie Howser's been taking lessons from Deanna Troi."

Here's a pretty good Matrix MiSTing...in comic form! It's best if you're familiar with IRC. Hi,
Okay, assuming this idea is going to work and we (that is, the FANS message board regulars) are actually going to do a Misting...
I'm sorry to subvert democracy, but I say we just go with Star Wars (Episode IV: A New Hope). The reason for this is that I think everyone has seen it, and also because I found a transcript on-line. It looks accurate enough, but I take no responsibility for errors.
http://www.geocities.com/EnchantedForest/8549/4.txt
So, what we have to do, I suppose, is each go through it individually and put jokes in. Then we all mail our versions to one of us, who will amalgamate them into one shared Misting.
Nicolas

It fooled me for a second too. I think the big breakthrough is in the hair -- it's starting to look like individual strands rather than a big plastic headpiece.
------------------

I like the idea of doing Star Wars, a New Hope. Only question is, who would be the misters? Us guys?
If so:
-opening credits-
STAR WARS CHAPTER 4: A NEW HOPE
Nodrog: " 'A new hope' - The unknown subtitle"
(Most people in USA have no idea what you meen when you talks about 'A New Hope')

So far, this whole idea seems bang on target. I'm just gonna sit back and watch this develop.

Hi,
Okay, it looks like we have a lot of people who want to do this, so I think it will work.
As I understand it, the idea is to do a shared Misting. I think that this is the best way to do it:
I've already provided a link to a transcript. I think it's best if we all work off that, as it will make amalgamating them easier. Of course, if anyone wants to watch the movie and comment "live" go ahead, but insert your commentary into that transcript.
I hereby volunteer, incidentally, to be the guy who puts it all together. So once you're done e-mail it to me. Does the end of January sound okay as a due date?
One last thing: don't feel obliged to Mist EVERY line. We will have more than one person doing this, remember.
Nicolas
[This message has been edited by Nicolas Juzda (edited 01-15-2001).]
