I think you may be right Clay. Yesterday was my second highest day ever at 93 visits. That may be chump change to some of my fellow 'Spacers but I'm more than happy with it. Now if only I could break that 100 mark more than once .
------------------

I get fluctuating marks for Soupstock. It only updates 2 times a week, you see.
Some days I only get 350 readers while other days will net me about 475-500... I'm guessing some people read the comic on days other than the ones that it's updated on.
-----------------

Finally. A comic that rips off of Sam and Max without the plagerization found in those...other...ripoffs.

Hits are ANY file in the directory http://yourcomic.keenspace.com from ANYWHERE. The best way to determine your actual traffic at this point is to use pages which track each HTML document loaded. Visits and sites are also effected by files displayed elsewhere.

quote:
Originally posted by illumnus:

The best way to increase readership, as far as I can tell, is to tell your friends. My friend Jesse (yes, I named AiS's Jesse after him, but I don't _base_ Jesse after Jesse. Hopefully that made sense...) read one of my strips that he thought was absolutely hilarious, and he printed it and took it into work with him, and I've got a few new readers as a result. Readership will start to increase exponentially if you know your audience.
------------------

Amen to that, Capheine. By telling my friends, family, and coworkers about Schlock Mercenary I've introduced lots and lots (tens and tens!) of people to the world of web-comics. New readers for me, and eventually new readers for everybody.
Oh, and September has been better than August so far.
------------------

[/B]

I attribute that to Chris Chobotor's amazing newsbox. I've noticed that a great deal of my referrers are from various keenspace 'sites and that my pageview total is relatively high for me. This could mean many people are clicking through the webpage. Who's the private dick
That's a counting machine with all the strips?
I'm talking about Webalyzer.
Shut your mouth!
Am I just incomprehensible?

quote:
Originally posted by illumnus:

OK, so I imagine you're not talking about using the built-in Keenspace Webalyzer logs, but instead putting in a separate service (or alternately a cgi counter) on the pages I'd like to monitor?
Or am I having a raving-moron sort of a day?

------------------

Damn... that's really friggin sad. It seems to me that those charms might not be so lucky. Let us share a moment of silence for the creator (and his family) of one of the tastiest breakfast cereals known to man.
------------------

Did you know that the inventor of Lucky Charms died in one of the most tragic stories known to man just last week? He and his wife were driving to visit their comatose daughter, who had cancer. They got in a traffic accident of some sort and died. Their daughter died two days late.

quote:
Originally posted by rickZ:
