yeah, i would really appreciate some more feedback, cause most of my new readers get discouraged by the first few strips, which really sucked, and now i'd like to think that later ones only mildly suck, or might even be ok sometimes http://deadseasquirrels.keenspace.com

Wow... I'm amazed that so many people responded. Unfortunately, NetZero sucks (as I expected) and doesn't seem to work. I'm over at a friend's house, so I cannot actually check out people's comics for reviewing purposes, but I'm trying to get it working. What a surprise anyway- I'm going home in two days. And hooray, for I'll be able to start them then... and expect to get yours as soon as possible (um... that might not be for a year or three, judging from how many requests I've gotten )

Hi... I'm at home. I'm going to be here for a week until I go to another vacation WITH internet access...
At this exact moment sitting here, I'm trying to decide whether to do this electronically, by hand, or electronically with hand drawings and examples...
I'll figure it out. Hope it goes well, everyone! ^_^
------------------

Almost like it matters...
Work is going well, and every comic is getting their own page on a site I'm developing specially for such reviews. Right now www.comicreview.cjb.net (the best I could do) points to this page, but when the site's done it will point to the site.
More coming... reply to this string with comments if you want...
------------------

It's going well... Most of the graphics are done, the site is being developed quickly, and I'm reading through comic strips which I shall be reviewing. I shall start the actual reviewing tonight, hopefully...
Which reminds me. Where the heck am I going to put this site? I need some server space (No xoom! No homestead! None of those free bad services... yuck). I don't know whether I guess I should ask to have more space for my comic folder (remember, I'm around 100 days ahead of schedule, so I'm almost at the 10 megabyte limit already), but does anyone have better ideas?
------------------

I'm over my 10 meg limit, and it's not
a problem. Put it on KeenSpace. These
reviews are text - those are going to be
small sized, and comic-related.

------------------

Ben
Two things - one please add Burnt Dog Radio to your queue - I need honest feedback -
Second - if you don't want to go to the bother of setting up another review site you're welcome to post them at the COMIX/pedia - a site I've had up for awhile now (BoxJam will vouch for me I'm sure.. And I'll pretty much agree to post it anyway you see fit - just let me know. http://www.tannline.com/links/
------------------

Just to let everyone know, I'm on vacation right now and will arrive home Wednesday. The site design is made, so let me tell you a few facts about the way things are reviewed (unless it changes, which I may subject the site to if it doesn't work well):
-Every comic strip is reviewed in general terms. This includes saying stuff like "This comic is about a guy and his dog. They are sucked into a jet engine- their adventures begin from there." That's general. But also I'll say things about the style of the comic (Serial strips? Gag strips?), things about the drawings... you can get the idea.
-Right now I've drawn up (literally) reviewers which explain the comics they "review" in their own terms. Yes, these are cartoon characters. This is the main part I have doubts about- I'll see how it works out.
-I'm toying with the idea of having awards for special catagories... I already have a few ideas, but I could use a few more. If you have any comments on this and/or ideas for awards, respond.
-I'm also trying to decide whether I should get enough into actual judging to have ratings like "Is this strip gripping enough to visit every time a new comic is posted?" or "Is the web site easy to navigate?"
I... don't exactly have the right materials here to work, except for reading the comics I'm supposed to review. Again, some people have expected this review system immediatelly- it will come soon, but not too soon... Early September, hopefully. Maybe sooner, maybe later.
------------------

Hopefully this isn't "old news" yet. I'm just letting you know that a huge amount of reviews have been completed since I last posted, and I've been kinda handing out "status reports" in #webcomics as reviews come...
That's about it. I have a huge amount of schoolwork though so things will be slowing down as I finish up- due to the excessive amount of HW, it won't be coming quite as soon as I thought. (Sorry, I said that it might be a possibility that it be released this upcoming week, but it doesn't look like it now!)
To give a clear perspective, think about how Brownie Point Comix (which I do respect, btw) has several reviewers and a system already set up. I'm the lone reviewer, I had to create my system, and I have about twice as many comics as BPC has (I think). That isn't a complaint, just a pleading for a bit of extra time. Damn these honors classes and their constant homework!
------------------

Yes, yes, I know I'm late, but I think it's a great idea. And yes, my strip's new, but add me to the tally anyway!
Erin
------------------

It would be nice to finally get some feedback on my strip. No one has ever given me any opinion on it and no one ever posts on my message board. The url is http://boygirlclub.keenspace.com Yay!
------------------

Recieved!
Still working hard... Haven't worked on the reviews for a few days (desperately hard work) but took some time off from my own comic to do some work. I think this'll be a public thing (all cartoonists get their comics reviewed if they want, not just Keenspace) once I get the site up. But of course, who knows for now...
I need a good provider for the comic. I don't want to use Keenspace because I don't want the banner up top, as well as the review site meddling with my comic statistics.
I know that I've been offered space, but I'm not quite sure what to say. What I need to know is whether I can directly have space on a server for the site, with no strings attached. Of course I'll show my gratitude for such an offering, but what I hope is to not have any required banners on the page. Perhaps I can voluntarily have a changing banner up top, since it would be neat to promote new comics (changing every few days or something) but I don't think it'd be necessary or even wanted to have the Keenspace banner there.
------------------

--jwh
By the way, I like your comic.
