When I put in the password, it won't let me in. It's definitely the right password. I've tried multiple times, but it won't work. Do I need to get a new one or will Keen pull itself together soon?
Later...

Same here. My last update went through, but I can't seem to access FTP to upload new ones.
I know, I know, enough nagging...I just didn't want this guy to feel like he was all alone.
------------------

What url are you using? It should be yourcomic.keenspace.com the following point to the old server, and your site is no longer there:
keenspace.com www.keenspace.com
ftp.keenspace.com
members.keenspace.com
the list goes on, you probaly shouldn't have used them in the first place (with the exception of ftp.keenspace.com) You may note that the members subdomain is on the old server, which includes your webalizer (site stats). The update page works because when you click on the button it sends it to siteadmin.keenspace.com which is on the new server. Strange isn't it.
------------------

Won't let you into where exactly?
FTP: are you connecting to username.keenspace.com? Port 21?
Membership page: Still on the old server, and since the AutoKeen and webalizer (stats) are down there's not much point in trying to get in there anyway.
------------------

ftp.keenspace.com is on the old server, so it's refusing your login because you no longer have a website there. If you connect to yourcomic.keenspace.com with the same login and password it will let you in. I don't think I can spell it out any clearer.
------------------

Sigh...
What did the seconds post MEAN?
Secondly, I used ftp://ftp.keenspace.com/ If I made a mistake in the URL, then I definitely did it right when I typed it into the browser. Then I would put in my password, but it wouldn't let me into my FTP account. What isn't there to understand?
Later...

Well it's too bad you can't, because it isn't working. I use the ftp://thelspshow.keenspace.com/ and it says it can't find it, and i type thelspshow.keenspace.com and it won't work, either. Maybe this is some kind of magical trick that works for everyone but me, I dunno. I have a feeling this is gonna take me three weeks like it did to get the friggin' tags wokring. Oh well.
Later...

Let me reiterate his problem, because that problem or a derivitive is happening to me as well. I log on to ftp.keenspace.com, port 21, like I normally do, using FTP Explorer.
Here is a log of my actions:
Connecting to: Football Man
Connection Established
220 ProFTPD 1.2.1 Server (Keenspot FTP) [kingluca]
Connected to: Football Man
USER footballman
331 Password required for footballman.

Error logging on to: Football man

Now, here is a log of my actions if I log onto footballman.keenspace.com:
Connecting to: Football man
Connection Established
Error connecting to: Football man

Now, tell me what to do to log on to my Keenspace FTP space and upload my comics, your reply void of spelling or grammar mistakes and using as few pronouns as possible.

He did use that and he said it's still not letting him connect.
Of course it's not letting anyone connect at the moment because the server is completely shut down while they attempt to install a SCSII card and drive.

------------------

I sent an e-mail into help@keenspace.com and I haven't gotten a reply, yet. When I use thelspshow.keenspace.com it just takes me to the comic page, not the FTP page. I dunno what to do.
Later...

I can access my older accounts, citrus.keenspace.com and kits.keenspace.com with no problem.
My relatively newer account, earth.keenspace.com isn't working though.
And when using "earth.keenspace.com" didn't work, I tried "www.keenspace.com", "keenspace.com", "ftp.keenspace.com", even literally typing out "yourcomic.keenspace.com", and "earth.keenspace.com" several dozen more times.
The password is correct, because the same one allows me to log onto earth's site maintenance page without any problems.
I think this is server error, not user error.

If you're doing everything correctly (connecting to your comics url, login and password spelled right, port 21, etc.) and the server is up, go ahead and e-mail help@keenspace.com it's possible your comic was missed during some part of the transfer.
It's times like these when I feel like a broken record ...

Atrus, you have provided no help. If you had read my post thoroughly, you would realize that I DID CONNECT TO yourcomic.keenspace.com, but there was an ERROR.
The problem has been fixed, and guess what, Atrus! My first guess was correct: My comic hadn't been moved to the new server yet. I can connect now.
It's people like you, Atrus, who are always egocentric, that bother me the most.

Seppel, Artus was only trying to help. His mistake was purely a misunderstanding. Ghastly quickly and kindly corrected him, so your flame was uncalled for in my opinion.
------------------

edit:The original post was very long for very little, so for your convience here's a summary.
1.I'm sorry if my attempts to help people have ever caused trouble.
2.I thought you were connecting to ftp.keenspace.com because you said so and there was nothing in the FTP clients reports to indicate otherwise.
------------------

Folks, here's the offical word:

 •
If you're using your web browzer to FTP, stop whatever you're smoking, because it's not helping. You need an FTP Client. WS_FTP, FTP Explorer, SmartFTP, LeechFTP, Fetch (for Mac), anything. But don't use any stinking HTML/Web browser for FTP. They hide the truth and may quite possibly damage your files in transit. Make the switch. Make your friends switch. Make your buddy switch. Just say NO to using a web browser to FTP files up to a remote server.
(pant pant pant)
Now with that out of the way...

Now, you need to find out which server your ISP's DNS server likes to point to. If someone told you to put anything in /etc/hosts or C:/WINDOWS/HOSTS related to KeenSpace, *REMOVE IT* (not the file, the lines). Next, go into the command prompt (or use MacPing) and ping your comic's server (which is "username".keenspace.com). If you have your own .com pointed there, use the .keenspace.com domain instead (we control the DNS on it).
If the IP it reports ends with .130, then you need to read "My Domain's IP ends in .130". I'll hand-check those domains.
If your IP address reports in .151, you shouldn't be getting any FTP entry problems. If that's not the case, post or e-mail the wranglers (help (at) keenspace.com).
------------------

Oh, just for advance checking, all the domains listed in this box show up as the right IP address on my end (ending in .151).
------------------

I've never been able to log onto my ftp through username.keenspace.com sar.keenspace.com for me. It's just never worked, still doesn't, does this mean I'll never be able to upload my comic again?
