When you do talk to your prof, say this:
"Yeah, I'm metaphorical ... metaphorical like a fox!"
You'll get your "A". I personally guarantee it.*
------------------

Well, it's not so bad...
But if you want to improve it the glych way:
You: "Oh, I guess the flashback machine's not working."
Mike: "Like the wish machine, the door out, the drains, there's still wate everywhere after we came back from skiing! There's those penguins over there *points south* They're really broken! Dick's been dead for years, so I suppose death ain't working in this world either!... You know, you're not a very caring cartoonist."
You: "Quiet you."
 Yes?
And about the Poetry. Poetry is the thoughts and feelings of another. To express your opinion about said words is like trying to describe color to a blind person. Sometime you have to use metephors! Okay. Now that we'ver heard how she would fix that little comic up, here's how I would do it.
Okay, at the end there after you say, "The flashback machine's not working." A guy that looks like a giant pickle version of the Hero from RPG World jumps out and says, "NOT WORKING?!? TASTE MY STEAL!!!"
Then you start to sword fight, when all of the sudden Mike get nipples, which come to life and start to strangle him.
As Frank wonders just what the hell is going on somebody from an old video game runs into him, appologizes, then runs away.
Then everbody goes out for pizza.

------------------
In all honesty, it should have been "Let's HEAR it for nipples."
Oh well.

My poetry mentor, and teacher, doesn't grade on "poetry", but on putting in the effort, class critcism, and analysis papers. Not the poetry.
but one of the reasons he rocks is because he's all about sound. I frickin love sound and rhythm, not to a ginsberg extent, but... sound comes first, words come first. Then you get meaning and boring technical devices all smoothed and polished out. Course, I probably got corrupted to that view reading latin poets. You get the sounds by reading it first and latin poetry just flows, better than shakespeare, though the meter is harder (too many beats in a line- dactylic hexameter) latin words just speak better. Then, after i've read it, the meaning sinks in, then i grab the dictionary to get a crystal translation. I try to read in english the same way.
Umm... Damonk, you kill us every day with charm and dead funny jokes, if you muddle through one day, it will only serve to make us appreciate you more the rest of the time. I think. see, i've got this poetry thing down, but i still don't know comics ^^

it's that last panel, really... i was building it up fine, and even if i would have left it with the "flashback machine not working" joke, it would have be semi-okay. but it was a little weak, and i thought that by bringing in the sound effect gag back, i could strengthen the laugh-response factor.
however, i worded it all wrong, thus screwing the timing, and the effect. it could have been hilarious, and instead it became a bomb.
...
[insert rant~~ feel free to skip to next paragraph]
the only excuse i have is that i got my marks for my poetry portfolio yesterday, and they weren't the 'A's I was expecting. unfortunately, the prof has a thing for metaphor ("it's *all* in the metaphor" is his motto), and I don't like metaphor all that much (preferrig wit and wordplay), at least not to his fanatical degree. rest assured that i will be fighting my grade, tho, as i think he wasn't fair whatsoever (this comment agreed to by many other student in the class). i'm not a grade-grubber, but i do know when i'm being short-shrifted. and i can't afford accepting a mismarked B+ when it comes to deciding next year's grants.
[/end rant]
...
knowing me, i'll probably change the comic in the next few days, if i can think of how to improve it.
damn.
i hate when i'm not funny.

Personally, I didn't find anything wrong with it. I still saw that the flashback machine was whacked out, and I still gave a chuckle.
Sorry about your poetry assignment, Monk-chan. I know what you're going through with the marking of your assignment. I know I have a few gripes to bring up with one of my Crim Procedure tutorial assistants. Mueh!
*ahem*
Anyways, all is well with said comic. In countless documents sent straight to the shredder

At the end of a disconnected phone
Down an unmarked street
And buried, deep beneath your feet."
