Where do you folks go to waste time on the internet?

snopes.com is pretty good. I can also get lost on wikipedia sometimes when I go on a knowledge binge

If I'm hard up and I just don't want to do anything at work. I'll read through the email archives at seclists.org. I also enjoy the crazy people at abovetopsecret.com
Re: Internet time-wasters.
Cracked.com is great for going on knowledge benders. Politifact is also good but an acquired taste.

They have terrible fact-checking though. Urban legends and tabloid journalism right between actual facts, things they'd at least have to search on Snopes or Straight Dope to find out they weren't true.

Yeah, cracked is pretty awesome. Gotta remember that they are first and foremost a humor site though, so take what they say with plenty of salt.Toxic wrote:Cracked.com is great for going on knowledge benders. Politifact is also good but an acquired taste.
I've also been picking through some Let's Plays. Hard to find good ones, but right now I'm in the middle of one for Final Fantasy X that's quite entertaining.
Re: Internet time-wasters.
LukeNuetzmann does some fun Let's Plays on youtube, and his playthrough of Fallout 3 was what made me decide to buy it. I also tend to waste a bunch of time on TVTropes.com, though there seems to be a huge part of the internet that bashes it.

I'm currently a big fan of the Onion AV Club, especially My Year/World of Flops.

Reddit doesn't have the same kind of stigma 4chan does, does it? It seems like it has all of the idle clicking as 4chan with a whole lot less of the angry teenage suburban white boy vibe.

I like how it begins like a "girls gone wild" commercial. The cover of the theme cartoon theme song was pretty epic I have to admit.McDuffies wrote:I was gonna watch live action Archie movie, but can't find time.

TVtropes.com is great way to have a few hours sucked out of your life in one go. I contribute stuff as well as reading it.
