'kay. Simple way to be happy with Keen - use the Keep updating system. *g* If you DON'T want to use the Keenspace system, it's a little bit of a hassle. You are REQUIRED to have the Keenspace ad banner and the disclaimer at the bottom of the page - everything else is optional, from the calendar feature to the next day/previous day buttons, but you HAVE to have the ad banner. The way the ad banner works is with the ***advertisment*** tag. That tag HAS TO GO THROUGH THE UPDATE SYSTEM TO WORK.
So here's what you do - you make a page. Put the tags where you want 'em. Save the page as indextemplate.html. Upload it into your workspace directory. Run an update. Boom, all done, you don't have to worry about it anymore - unless you are updating the page itself by hand every day, in which case you need to upload a new indextemplate every day.
There are ways around this that I am working on for reasons of my own, but it is NOT easy. Best bet? Use the Keen tags, and the Keen system. It is WAY easy to use - you just name your comic with the date you want it to go up, stuff it in your workspace/comics folder, and it'll update automatically. *shrug*
As far as deleted files - what did you delete? If you deleted any of the stuff in the public html folder, an email to Teri or Nate may be in order.
------------------

I think this person already left, but I'll just note to everyone that there's no reason why you can't do frames on Keenspace.

For that you'd have to e-mail one of the keen admins. I'm not sure which, I suppose e-mail Teri and she'll forward it to the appropriate person.
Also, you'd only have to have the advertisement in one of your frames, I beleive. Keen doesn't put the advertisement in automatically which is nice because you can place it anywhere you want (most people put it at the top but I haven't seen anything that says you have to). This is why you need to use the updater even if you don't use any of the features because the autokeen will replace ***advertisement** tag with the appropriate code.
Once you get past the initial setup of your pages regular updates should be easier. Keen can support other systems but if you want to use other scripts it may not work by default. When you e-mail them ask about any other things you want to use and they may be able to provide a special set-up.
------------------
