Finished the second issue of my comic! (Or is that the second "chapter" of my "graphic novel." Hmmm. ) And it only took me...6 months. *sigh* ONWARDS to issue 3, where the real craziness begins. Literally.
I shot Expert with the M9 pistol. I didn't shoot Expert with the M16 rifle, but was short by one point and know that had I redone the qualification I could easily have pegged it. I simply chose not to because I wanted the Soldiers to have the maximum number of opportunities to qualify.
Also, Jason sent me a present! Best friends are awesome.

Signed the lease and got the keys for a new apartment today. It's right across the street from my school, so it'll be like living on campus. Also, my dad and sister threw a surprise birthday party for my mom, which went off without a hitch. All in all, a good day.

It was shaping up to be a pretty dull weekend, then some friends randomly called and said they wanted to go to dinner.
Surprisingly, this was not related to my complaining yesterday about how they were not spontaneous enough. It was a coincidence.

My fighter was a mother fucking champ in the game. Resisting necrotic and fire, left and right, taking down the zombie hulk, and then bashing the boss's skull in several rounds later. Do not mess with my dwarf.

Saw Scott Pilgrim vs The World, finally. SO EPIC. SO AWESOME. I saw it at 9PM, it is now 2AM, I AM STILL REVVED FROM SEEING IT. Good music, amazing visuals, and the acting was actually spot on. Michael Cera is beginning to wear thin as the "lonely weepy emo teen" but this role really was right for him. The gags were great, and I now want to read the comics to see how much of a difference it is as a visual only medium, and a visual/audio medium. The constant video game-ness....wonderfully delightful.
I want to see it again tomorrow but the only shows are in the evening and I've got D&D.

Actually I thought Cera was the one shortfalling. Reading the comic I always imagined Scott being a very mock-confident kinda guy, like a teenage Colbert, rather than the awkward Cera bit.
I still liked him in the movie, it was just the one part that I was like "Come on Cera, play confident for ONCE"
A friend of mine desparately wants to play this game, but he's trying to study for a certification exam he has to take next week. I'm enjoying watching his struggles to resist installing it.
It may end up costing me an ice capp if he makes it, but it'll be worth it.
